April 16, 20233 yr Looking for people's thoughts on these two pieces of software. Just got into VR and wanting something to keep track location and flight plans while in VR. Given both free options a quick try but would appreciate the thoughts of anyone who has spent any time with either of both of these before I make a purchase. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.
April 17, 20233 yr I use Sky4Sim because it works with both NeoFly and Pilot2ATC so if you use either program it's a no brainer.
April 17, 20233 yr Sky4Sim for me, use it asll the time and one of the very top apps for me. (Not tried FSKneeboard though so can't compare) Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
April 17, 20233 yr Sky4Sim works fine. Furthermore, I recently had a disturbing experience with the developer of FSKneeboard. Full story here: Peter

April 17, 20233 yr I have both of them and I find both work well for my purposes (VFR flying in VR). I use them interchanging (if not alternatively FS-FlightControl via FSDesktop which has a few quirks under Win11, though). Both do what they are supposed to do. What I am missing in both are means for airport navigation like taxiways, gates, and ramps with identifications when zooming in, as FS-FlightControl and Little Nav Map are able to display. This would expectedly require building a database out of the sim, as both of the latter do. If they end up in the hospital or having to deal with some other crisis, it's easy for 48 or more hours to pass between contact and response. Unless it's a developer like Carenado or PMDG, where I know they have a staff, I tend to try and give a little grace to response times. Of course, I'm old enough to remember when anything you ordered didn't show up for at least a week, so that might temper my reaction too. 😉 To the OP, I'll add on to the Sky4Sim recommendations. I haven't tried the other one because I don't need to. S4S does everything I want it to do, and it does it very well. I find it indispensable for VR flights, especially if I'm using Neofly. April 17, 20233 yr The loading of flight plans to & from G1000/G3000 units is awesome in Sky4Sim, such a lovely feature. I am aware of that, and that is why I kept my post factual. I am only recommending that one should make sure that the developer responds prior to purchasing anything.

I use both together usually one for departure/destination airport zoomed in layout details and the other for general in flight navigation. FS Kneeboard has a cool feature that lets us dial in and teleport to any desired altitude/coordinates on the map. In case you wanna save alot of time and hurry to your destination. Both work great and are a must have for me.
