I imagine the weather, especially in the winter, in countries like Afghanistan ain't exactly VFR. 🤣 Sub-Saharan African countries where this aircraft did quite a lot of aid work for France and the U.N. also tend to have very challenging weather conditions. I was so looking forward to purchasing this as it's a gorgeous model on the inside and the outside, however the complete lack of simple radio navigation like VOR's and ILS not being able to couple to the autopilot is a complete 100% no go. Isn't the default MSFS AP already implemented in the simulation as a gauge when it comes to the SDK? All you need to do is add a temporary AP gauge with a NAV1 and NAV2 radio source... I've added several AP's to aircraft that didn't have them so I could use my Saitek AP to set ALT, APP, NAV, VS, HDG, etc on aircraft I really enjoy flying when it's wet out.

Hopefully the aircraft is updated in the future. I kind of feel bad for those that purchased this on the marketplace when it first appeared as there was no warning in the listing of the complete lack of IFR functionality. I'm surprised Microsoft/Asobo allowed it with their no refund policy.

You are right, but everyone has different needs, I am not a real life pilot like you and I am perfectly happy with a GPS FOR NOW

. I don't say IFR instruments wouldn't be better, don't get me wrong.

MSFS itself is a constantly evolving title that will forever be a "work in progress", that alone requires Devs to constantly check & update their mods practically every single update that gets released. With many of those persistently waiting for new features so they can upgrade their mods, especially plane Devs.

So in this case, if a plane gets released without certain features that are already available then that's the choice of the Devs. If they say they're going to further improve then that's fine, personally I'll just wait and see what they do as I have no issue with that. They could need money now to help them improve the product further, hence the "basic" release as it is now.

Regardless, the ultimate decision is yours - buy now and deal with the lack of features and hope the Devs update in future, or don't buy and sit it out and wait and see - it's not hard 🙂

Let us be fair. This aircraft is, as far as I can see, in no way similar to a Captain Sim word not allowed and should be, once completed,  much better than the  A400M which draws a lot of negative comments.

She looks like a reasonably good medium to upper-tier product ! It is unfortunate that  the dev didn't  do the extra mile to make her worthy (for me) of a release.

Not condoning this commercial behaviour doesn't mean that there is not a potential in the AzurPoly Transall. Here is the manual for instance

And another YT

. @Noooch where is the GPS ?

I can understand the negative comments with the bits still to come but I bought this yesterday and after 2 short flights am impressed with this a would definitely recommend it.

I wouldn't call them negative, rather maybe frustrated 😄. Good to have your feedback.

I was currently looking at this same video 🙂

The GPS is on the tablet, basically a map with the position of the aircraft.

What we see on page 60 of the manual ? The Milviz Corsair has such a thing, from my experience it is useless.

yes...I prefer using FSKneeboard, especially in VR

The moving map is of course useless as a substitute for a GPS but you can fly any traditional instrument approach with this aircraft, just not RNAV approaches.

However, you will have to do this manually. The existing autopilot currently does not couple to the instruments for radio navigation.

But i can tell you: it's a lot of fun to fly an airplane like this the old school way.

I’m having a blast with the switchology on this one! Try starting it up at night from C&D at YSSY. Don’t forget push back; this does not turn on a dime. :)

I suffer from insomnia as an old person, so studying the flow of electrical busses and fuel systems is a great way to get myself back to sleep.

playing with the electric busses on this alone is like patching a Eurorack modular synth.

You cannot fly it IFR for one. It is a VFR only machine.

LoL - you people crack me up!

Here's some IFR for you, and if you need a "fully coupled autopilot" before you buy a plane, then I guess you're more of a computer operator than a vPilot....smh.

Can't believe how strong the elitist/tubeliner herd mentality is around these parts.

I'm curious, does the "v" before pilot mean "virtual"? Does that differ much from a "computer operator"?
