you can fly any traditional instrument approach with this aircraft, just not RNAV approaches.

Thanks for the feedback, appreciated. This aircraft is intriguing for people like me, loving flying bush or oldish military birds.

My favorite arrivals are more normal patterns if not  overhead break or beta landing than RNAV 😁. Exaggerating a bit here but you catch my drift , not a  sophisticated avionics fan (not that it is a sin by the way).

Flying often in the boondocks, I need, minimum minimorum, working VOR receivers. Am I wrong to understand that the CDI deviation bar is erratic or even non functioning in Azurpoly’s baby, as some people report  ?

As some regions in the world have no VOR nowadays or the beacons are hidden by elevations, a GPS is extremely welcome to show the way to destination, not only the magenta line but the geoposition parameters relative to destination (ETE, GS etc) .

Finally, a wisely used autopilot has its merits. The HDG only coupling is a bit short. What about the IRS ?

Transall were not driven by dead reckoning and pilotage 😁

Yes there is definitely more work to do, and as always, certain things will be inadequate for certain users, that’s always the case.

i love bush flying as much as I do procedural. They’re both flying, just in different ways.

In case anyone doesn't want to deal with Facebook (how I wish Azurpolly would get a proper blog/forum or even Discord) they are hoping to have the update on Marketplace "before of next week" (presumably the standard Marketplace update due on 25th)

And the changelog they are listing is -
- Added optional GNS 430 unit (GPS)
- Fixed broken fuel burnt indicator
- Fixed erratic ADF values
- Fixed TACAN channel entry
- Fixed erratic course deviation indication
- Autopilot NAV and APP modes
- Improved autopilot pitch hold switch
- Fixed pressurization panel knobs and indicators
- Fixed fuel transfer between tanks A and C
- Implemented fuel dump with effect
- EFIS display when IRS is not aligned
- FMS improvements (frequency entry, CLR long click)
- Fixed EFB quick actions
- Changed EFB closing button for Xbox usage
- Improved exterior sound
- Improved opening ramps and front door sound influence
- Fixed bug with emergency flaps and spoilers
- Improved click on DSP knobs that was difficult with head tracking
- Various internal and external texture fixes
- Fixed missing engine heat blur
- Added tire smoke effect
- Model adjustment to make paintkit usable with exterior model including fuel refueling probe
- Fixed landing gear maneuvering light always on during flight
- Fixed taxi light bug
- Fixed flight time calculation in EFB
- In-game checklists improvements
- Updated cruise speed in menu

Definitely like the sound of the Nav instrument, AP and TACAN improvements

Sounds absolutely excellent. Nice to see improvements to the "Improved click on DSP knobs that was difficult with head tracking" too.

According to today's Development Update the Transall update is included in this week's marketplace update (it's nearly 1am here however so confirming  if that's true can be someone else's job 😉 )

Autopilot NAV and APP modes

Just bought this plane last night, very nice but I can’t find where to enable these modes, can anyone point me in the right direction?  My EFB autopilot only has heading and altitude.

I'm afraid I don't know yet -  that's a quote from the change log Azurpolly posted but I haven't had a chance to properly dig into the updated version and try anything out yet

It seems it is not temporary, my bad.

I don't know why I understood it was 😄

I wouldn't be surprised if the GNS430 option gets removed if the built-in FMS gets fully updated to include GPS navigation.

Personnally I prefer the GNS530 rather than a FMS. I hope that the transall will be GNS530 updated because it is a good fun to use, including weather, terrain and traffic... for instance Blacksquare aircafts are GNS530 equipped ;-). Of course a FMS option for pilots who prefer it should be available of course...
