What is really missing in MFS

Featured Replies

The SIM is a revolutionary product with constant updates. But there are still many features missing which could bring more realism into the sim.

I am personally missing the following things:

1) Rain effect. No matter how heavy rain/snow is you can easily taxi, approach without the wipers on. It ruins the feel unfortunatelty...

2) Landing lights do not illuminate the clouds enough. Unfortunately, not all the cloud layers are illumintated when we pass through. Usually when you get inside a cloud at night you cannot see anything in front, just in some cases the clouds are lit. But in reality the light is reflected from any cloud. That riuns the feel...

3) Turbulence in the clouds. No matter how thick cloud is , nothing happens after entering the cloud. In real vids it is obviously seen the turbulence occures emmediately. Now in the sim there is no need to avoid any cloud because you can pass through without any consequence. That ruins the feel...

That is my must have list. What are you missing in the sim? Not talking about aircrafts and avionics.

Huh? I'm seeing rain drops all over my windshield in those conditions.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I also have rain drops. But if you watch any video during aproach in heavy rain, you will see  that without wipers on it is impossible to see almost anything. That is missing in the sim...

Even with wipers on in RL as for your question, ATC and AI traffic could have a boost 🙂

For me I miss cirrus clouds. And I’d like airports to not always have runway lights on at all times.

Still, somehow it might be compensated if flying online

Agree. Cirrus cloud would add more effect on the sim visuals and realism feel. Airports lights is not that crucial I think. I can live with that 🙂

A purpose or career mode, built in not via 3rd party software and that supports resuming a saved flight. Essentially your own personal VA.

Thats an interesting idea. I use A Pilots Life Chapter 2 which I quite enjoy, but I've never thought about a similar thing being built into the sim itself.

About the turbulence. I find them already way better than in P3D (turb above relief, impact of the aircraft) and, with some ups and downs in the process, Asobo has improved them since release. The  air motion within clouds is indeed something which would be welcome now.

I have never really understood what folks miss not having cirrus. Is it something which impact high  altitude flying (icing in the engine) or just  that they look pretty (icing on the cake) ?

Now what do I miss  : World Update Greece with tons of archaeological sites, and, oh yes, a 2023 User Interface in the World Map, not something out of Windows 3.0. Like toogle button bar rather than nested menus.

Well cirrus clouds are a major type of cloud.  Considering we fly in the sky it is odd to have them not present. Looks for me

All of the above would help improve the sim for me but moving trains would be nice too.  I guess that lenticular clouds and mountain wave would be out of the question.

Is it only me who finds that all planes still seem to skid a bit when turning whilst taxi ing a little too fast?
