Can Russians and Chinese buy MSFS?

Featured Replies

I'm wondering if Russians can. They do know how to develop flight simulators after all. What about China? It seems that nowadays almost everything is Made in China. Why are there no addon's or competing flight simulators 'Made in China'?

My advance apologies if I broke the hall monitoring rules. An honest mistake. I thought it would be ok since the words "R..." and "Made in C..." were not in the 'word not allowed' list. 😑

Back in day of Il-2 Sturmovik I was contributing 1C and Oleg Maddox in developing the sim. Great beginning but quickly company was squirted by American partner and moved headquarters  outside Russia. You couldn’t  do business in Russia back then (corruption, bribery and etc) and now it’s beyond impossible.

China is good for copying stuff and provide cheap labor. I have never a   flight sim from them beyond Great Wall. Lol

Now, tell me why do you think other countries don’t know how to make flight sims? I started as simmer many decades ago with ATP, I’ve gone through many iteration of MSFS. And now I’m flight instructor and airplane owner . MSFS is excellent flight sim and impressive work in progress . If you don’t understand this perhaps you need to look deeper

Isn't iFly a Chinese company? You can hardly say their 737s (eg the Max) is a rip-off of anything else.

Well well well,  political bias comes in finally.  let me be honest, why china don't develop any simulation type game because it's not a gold mine to dig and it's a very very small market not only in China but also in this world. nowadays mobile games make most money than any other platform.  "honor of kings" , "PUBG" and "Genshin Impact" ( they are global top 3 mobile platform games and all  developed in China) can make 400 millions usd as revenue only in month of March, 2023. and USA is the largest mobile platform game revenue  in the world , it contributed 1.8 billion USD only in March. Let face it, MSFS is a game with a very small market, it doesn't make a lot of money.

He is in China, safe and sound. they are building new Alibaba HQ in the north of Beijing. So stop your i  g   no  ra   nt  bias to China and Stop watching CNN misinformation as you got brainwashed already.

There is nothing wrong with your post or question.  Unfortunately, others will derail it with their political comments, and have already started as you can see.

I hope you got your answer before the thread gets locked.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I actually want to do more flying in China.  Some of the payware airports are excellent and its once of the most congested airspaces gong.  I think there is a thriving Chinese community.  Many airports on Flightsim.to

MS withdrew from the market a year ago and casual financial transactions with CC have become almost impossible anyway.

One of the best  FSX and P3D aircraft dev, Sibwing, was based in Novosibirsk. I understand one of Sibwings founder made the An2 for MSFS too under the new name of ATsimulations.

MSFS is not distributed in China. https://www.scmp.com/abacus/games/article/3097845/microsoft-flight-simulator-lets-you-fly-through-china-where-game-isnt

Now what about Japan (the language ?), what about India ?
