Digital Flight Dynamics A350X Progress Update Video

Featured Replies

Have not seen a Thread about it, and find it interesting.

A Video about the upcoming Freeware(?) Airbus A350 from Digital Flight Dynamic, it shows some 3D Model, Cockpit and some Displays.

It looks like they are collabing with FBW for some of the systems.

They have a long way to go, but the video seems serious to me (but i dont know nothing about how acurate the Displays are etc.).

Heres the 28 Minute Video on youtube:

Looks like it's moving along well. I also never knew there was a freeware A350 being produced.

Complete role reversal compared to other flight sims. There's a lot of modern Airbus action for fans to look forward towards in MSFS: FBW A32N progress, Fenix A320v2, FBW A380, DFD A350 and FSLabs A330.

I thought this would be vaporware like 95 percent of freeware projects. It looks amazing so far. Guessing we wont see it until next year but the fact we are getting closer to free A350 and A380 (on top of an already release free A320neo and A310) is exciting for the sim.

I really hope this is true. I've been waiting ages! This is great news.

I'd rather remain cautiously optimistic. The A350/A330 are my absolute favorite aircraft irl and knowing my nit picking self I'm going to get annoyed if the avionics are not complete so i'm going to remain quiet and not put my hopes up too much. The A350 and A330's are too beautiful for it to be done half assed and it would be unfair to the freeware devs to put that expectation on them. Hopefully it all goes well in the end but knowing myself i'm going to temper expectations on this one for now to avoid deep disappointment.

interesting to see if the devs are going to look into implementing all the approach modes including FLS (This is why i temper expectations because i'm sure this stuff isn't easy)

I don't really believe this until it's released. From what I know there's basically no data available at all to model an even remotely realistic A350. Unless it's an Airbus insider working on that personally...

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I’d rather have this, even if some things are not totally realistic.

MSFS freeware community is amazing.

It will therefore be preciously easy to do without the Aerosoft A330.
