July 4, 20232 yr There is always the option of a decent 4K TV, I have a 55 inch Sony X90K which has GSYNC capability. I run with a i7-12700K & 4090, 120Hz with FG on. I chose Sony as they have very good hardware for controlling motion and decent picture quality. I have been very pleased with this TV, just be aware that some displays suffer with the GSYNC flickering issue more than others, I find that with this TV I barely get any at all and even when it is there is hardly noticeable. Is there a need to use GSYNC at all? Back in the day was VSYNC on or off!! Thomas Derbyshire

July 5, 20232 yr Author Thank for reply in the end went for this Gigabyte M28U Arm Edition 28 Inch SS IPS 4K/UHD (3840 x 2160) 144Hz FreeSync Premium Pro Gaming Monitor : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories GSYNC ultimate monitors are ridiculously priced, this one is GSYNC compatible. Question marks over 28" for 4k but I sit close to the screen on my desk so only time will tell. What I will say is what an absolute faff it was to buy a monitor, much more difficult than assembling and choosing parts for my PC build. The average consumer would be completely and utterly lost! I spent a few days and countless youtube video reviews just sourcing what I "think" will work best. Made even worse by the high price of 144hz screens and the astronomical prices for a 144hz "GSYNC Ultimate" monitor!! Thomas Derbyshire
July 7, 20232 yr Commercial Member I recently completed the build in my signature and went for the Samsung Neo G7 43" display on DP 2.1 @120Hz. Coming off an older 100HZ Ultra-wide 34" from Spectre the difference is astounding. I already had the 4080 in the previous build so I did get to take advantage of the FG at sub 4k resolutions (but an i9 9900k). On the new G7, at 4K and HDR, it's a game changer! Some of that is CPU related, but I have never seen the sim look so vibrant. It is GSync compatible as I could not find anything sub $1000 that was GSync native at this size. The GSync compatibility has been fine so far and overall I am happy with the new build, but especially the monitor. It regularly goes on sale for $700-800 so the only caveat is to not buy at the full MSRP of $999. I also spent as much time researching my PC build as I did on monitor selection so I feel you there! July 9, 20232 yr Currently trying to find a 4k gsync myself. I may wait it out until the holidays to see if a deal comes along. I use a 40" 60hz tv which works well but for some reason there are times that when I use vsync it can't maintain 60FPS so I get stutters. Turn off vsync and I'm off I'm running 100+ in the same scenario so I have no idea what's happening. A gsync should solve that. 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram
July 11, 20232 yr LG C1 with Gsync and 4090 with FG on. Ensures I never dip below 40fps which is the Gsync limit of this tv.

(Get a service remote off Amazon). My frames stay consistent 95% of the time. It’s only an issue if you keep jumping from 30 to 60 back to 30 etc in a short period.
