Clearing the cache just means deleting it (there is an option in the sim to do that). If you've never used the rolling cache, there's nothing to clear, so you can ignore that. August 27, 20232 yr I believe the rolling cache does cache some scenery files. I had a bunch of freeware French Riviera photogrametry scenery loaded into my community folder, decided I didn’t like it, removed it, yet it was still appearing in the sim. I then cleared the rolling cache and it was gone.

You should not experience this kind of issue with your config. @MrFuzzy Do you have any recommendation for the NVCP Settings? (Global and MSFS). It appears that this also can cause bad performance impact if this is set to something nonsense. Because when I set it back to default, I could feel the difference. But I am sure there are some settings wich may very important to set there!? How about the windows game mode? Should this be ON or OFF. Cheers Stefan

Cheers Stefan The best settings probably depend on whether you have G-sync or not, and are using DX11 or 12 with Reflex Ultra Low Latency and Frame Generation.

Cheers Stefan I recommend default settings, many people have issues after fiddling with NVCP. I tested every setting and never noticed any benefit, there are no magic formulas or snake oil. G-Sync is enabled by default if you have a capable monitor, nVidia Reflex can be activated in the sim settings. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
September 2, 20232 yr I notice that at times the rolling cache will be turned off on it's own. I'll turn it back on and then at another flight on another day etc...off again. Anyone else notice this? I have game mode and HAGS switched off after testing both, but I think some of those with the latest cards might benefit. I've tried all the tweaks and settings videos and some work for me and some don't but others with different systems get different results. I would say try them for yourself and see what result you get with your specific system. Nvidia defaults are a good starting point though. September 3, 20232 yr I can’t imagine why the rolling cache would be CPU specific… can anyone explain this? In theory, it’s going to save data downloads from the cloud… and that could be a game changer or non-factor depending on your latency to the MS servers… and shouldn’t depend on CPU choice at all. I run rolling cash as access to my SSD is orders of magnitude faster than access to the internet. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Zooming in and out caused random areas of textures to pop into a different LOD. L.A. on the world map was just some perfectly lined out texture and didn't blend in with the surrounding mountain textures etc.. I was having similar issues in game itself. Random ground textures seemed to overlap and fight each other. Cleared the rolling cache which has been disabled forever and the problem was solved. Different LOD tiles popping in and out as you change elevation, or high LOD textures at low altitudes only appearing immediately in front of your aircraft, is becoming a huge increased problem in the sim. South of France, the Alps, Italy, Corsica are a number of regions affected. Parts of the US are also reported in this huge thread on the official forums. Ive experienced it myself, I dont use rolling or manual caches, I also tested with no addons and all world updates removed. Bug is logged by Asobo so they confirm they are aware of it and experienced it also in tests. Can see the same problem simply using Bing in a web browser and zooming in and out. Sometimes the higher LOD tiles are a completely different season, different colours and content. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/aerial-ground-tiles-changing-popping-in/547197 Chris Edited September 3, 20232 yr by cj-ibbotson Chris Ibbotson AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D / MSI AMD MPG x670E Carbon Motherboard / Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC 32GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card / Corsair DOMINATOR Titanium RGB Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 / NZXT C1200 Gold ATX 3.1 - Fully Modular Low-Noise PC Gaming Power Supply - 1200 Watts - 80 PLUS Gold / 48” UltraGear™ UHD 4K OLED Gaming Monitor / 40" Philips 4K LED Monitor / Honeycomb Alpha Yoke / Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant / WinWing Orion Rudder Pedals c/w dampener / WinWing Ursa Minor Airline Joystick / WinWing Airbus MCDU
