Live weather METAR and temp sent via Simconnect do not match

Featured Replies

Just tried to start a flight at KLAS--Live Weather selected, METAR shows OAT of 37 deg C, but Simconnect is reporting 16 deg C.  Tried a couple different planes, saw the same bogus temp in the panels.

Moved to KSMF...Live Weather METAR shows 40 deg C, Simconnect sends 20 deg C to the plane.

You gotta have some common sense. Have you ever had electricity or internet outage? Did you feel disrespected? Are you done using them as well ? LOL

It could be that the best thing for you would be to take a break from the simulation and come back when things have improved, possibly the standard you require we will not see until MSFS2024.

very nice.

More reasons why MS/Asobo needs allow "other" options ASAP so users can choose to or not to use default weather.

MSFS does a pretty word not allowed good job right now.  You just need the right plane.  I can go to P3D, DCS, XP et al and have a really nice experience or an awful one.  It really depends on the plane first and foremost.  After that, all sims have a weakness (or multiples).  I admit weather and ATC aren't the best in MSFS.  But in XP the default avionics are awful, compared to MSFS.  XP does a decent job with atmosphere from a distance but up close the clouds look terrible...puffs with zero detail - and let's not mention anti aliasing.  In DCS the flight model is amazing but the simulated world is extremely limited.  P3D had a great run - it was a solid stable platform - but basically built on two decade-old software (which was great so all the developers knew how to work with it!)  But now it's certainly not up to 2023 visual standards.

No one sim does everything perfect.  Play the sim you want and find joy in it.

Well thought out, if those simulators satisfy you, these have been available for a long time ago.

The idea is to use the best available option that meets the needs of each user, complaining does not help to speed things up.

What I find bizarre in this case isn't the frequency of the outages, it's that the METAR report you get right from the Live Weather popup doesn't come anywhere near matching the weather it's actually injecting into the sim.

Maybe they should rename it "Jive Weather"...

That's because it's been partially broken since METAR integration in SU7, but they've clearly given up on  fixing it for this Sim and just want us to move into the next one with better weather. It's beyond server issues, it's integration, bubbles, completely wrong weather as to what the METAR is saying, the list goes on...

Fortunately I don't suffer too much from live weather issues, but when I do it's gone being annoying, it's just sad.
