New version of Rex Accuseason

Recommended Posts

With help from support I was able to get it running but I have some confusion with the automation. Old Accuseason ran daily when I started my system. Advanced seems to require you to pick a time and have system running at that time or update will be missed. I don't leave my system running 24/7 and I run it at various times so this "feature" seems useless. Have I misunderstood something?

I'd just like to be able to download the new Advanced Edition.

Original purchase on JustFlight's store.
Manual Update in OG AccuSeason doesn't trigger any update for me.
RexAxis doesn't start any download even after I submit the required info.

Ticket already raised, though no response yet.

That behave was with the old AccuSeason as you describe it, too. At least at my system.
When your PC is not running at the set time, no AccuSim season updates.
Really dumb logic behind.

Maybe you've made some windows settings with the old version to change this? At least it is a simple task scheduler setting.
(and the old task schedule still exists, even after uninstalling the old AccuSeason. 👎 )

you can tick "accomplish task as fast as possible if  missed" (or similar, I have a german OS) under windows task scheduler settings.
There you can also delete the old task.

After choosing Automation (and whathever options there), go into windows Taskscheduler, find the new AS Adv setting (the old one will still be there so delete that), and choose what settings you want for it. As a matter of fact you can open the old scheduler and either look inside for the options or point it towards the new .exe.

I have set mine to start once a week (e.g. Friday at 9 AM) whit an option that when the PC is not on on that time of day, it should run imidiately on the next PC Start. You can also ad a time limit to end the Application (choosed 2 min for me).

It's realy simple to do that. Just get in there and look at every TAB and option (it is self explanatory).

I agree. Not to mention you still have to close the application. Automation is a very liberal term here.

Please delete the profile.json file in the Documents/REX 7/REX AccuSeason Advanced Edition and then re-register. This should resolve the issue.

That unfortunately doesn't solve that issue in my case, still just 'Loading'. Guess I'll have to get in touch with support.

I got this working using tips from this thread.  I purchased from Orbx a while back.  I would have never figured it out if I did not follow it.

I had to go into settings and manually enter the route to my community folder.  I did properly select the Microsoft store version but my install is somewhat custom and it did not find it during the install.

I have not had a chance to check it out in the sim just yet.  Plan do that in the morning.  The interface is nice and easy to use and I do see some added features.  If it works it should be a nice enhancements in the scenery!

No, the runways are not effected by the terrain mask.

But the tire marks on the runways are. Same issue Bijan had and he never got this resolved, you would basically need an exclude for each and every airport with a solid runway surface. Verdict: REX seems to have the exact same troubles to overcome the shortcomings as Bijan had more than a year ago, as I still did not have time to test the terrain masks, I still hope that REX at least got the tile popping sorted...

Mine does no longer work, no error message, nothing. Problem: it simply does not move/copy the presets into the community folder anymore, no matter if I run Accuseason as admin or not, the REX folders in my community folder remains unchanged. Means: if I click on "apply to sim", the files are downloaded but not moved. What a bummer...

I managed to get it working again by simply removing the product.json file out of mydocuments and re-registering again. Wonder how long it lasts this time...

But WAY worse: the Accuseason terrain colouring suffers from exact the same tile popping issue I had with Bijans terrain masks. It is completely unflyable like this, here are two screenshots using the winter mask near LSZB:

spacer.png

Now, if you lower the viewpoint just some feet, additional masking tiles popp in suddenly:

spacer.png

But as you can see, the tiles do not reach that far and while moving around, they constantly get loaded and unloaded again. Completely useless like this (like Bijans terrain masks, he was never able to resolve this issue). Other regions like around LSZH do not show any masking tiles at all while in other regions of the world it might actually work as intended.

What a bummer, after this much of development time over Bijan I seriously hoped that REX got it sorted, but no. Same buggy terrain mask story we already got over a year ago for free from Bijan.

Yea, that looks terrible. And in typical REX fashion, an overly complicated uninstall and reinstall process. Such a joke. Think I am just going to forget about this update for now. I have bought it via Orbx and there are no step by step instructions for those that purchased there nor is it showing as an update via Orbx.

I installed it and activated it.  It ran and did it's thing.  Now when I start it I get the license not valid prompt.  Which means if I uninstall the product there will now not be away to restore the original files it replaced.  Very angry about that.  Any workarounds?

If I am not entirely mistaken, REX Accuseason does not overwrite anything but just creates new folders containing the things it has installed. So you should be perfectly fine by just deleting all REX folders in your community folder.
