As someone with a steadily dwindling time to fly, and even less to try to learn a new complex aircraft and spend 30 mins before getting it off the ground, I think there is something to be said for those of us that enjoy jetliners that we can get up and go.

Agree. Also, would it kill a 'study-level' developer to allow FMC integration with the MFS2020 flight planner ?  I use simbrief but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for a long pre-flight set up.

Simbrief can be created in less than 20 seconds though?

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

i was expecting something to be off in terms of accuracy.  But I thought the VC would look nicer than it appears in the limited reviews I've seen.

Was gonna say Simbrief is just as quick as the in sim world map flight planner.

1.Enter departure/arrival airport codes

2. Enter aircraft

3. Enter SIDs/STARs if there are options

4. Name Flight

5. Generate Flight

I can literally finish a Simbrief plan quicker than it takes to scroll the world map and connect airport departure/destination POIs.

You missed the following steps:

  1. Tab out of MSFS
  2. Open a web browser
  3. Go to Simbrief.com
  4. Log in
  5. Log out (after the 5 steps you listed)
  6. Switch back to the MSFS window
  7. Match the aircraft fuel and payload to the Simbrief plan
  8. Input the required FP details to have it appear in the FMC/MCDU.

No, it's not the end of the World.
However, it's just extra faff that shouldn't be necessary if you just want to stay inside the sim program.

I don't see CS misrepresenting what this aircraft is, so I'm not sure I'm seeing the scam (outside of those who feel like they are overcharging).

Not a scam, but certainly really poor for a payware aircraft to make no attempt for the EFIS or systems to look or work like the aircraft they're representing.

That's very fair.
Sometimes I just want to have a jet where I could click 'fly now' and have everything ready to go from the runway as soon as the sim loads in.
I can manage 3, maybe 4, detailed aircraft before the flows and processes don't stick. There's appeal to having the ability to Ctrl+E for a good-looking and mid-level functioning aircraft.

I start filling out simbrief before I even launch the sim.

I bought it last night and flew it around for 3 hours.  I'll write up a post in this thread with pictures for those who are not in the "I wouldn't even waste hard drive space on this" crowd when I get home from work.  There was too much to cover, some pleasant surprises, some fatal flaws and a lot of head scratchers. So far none of the reviews I have seen answer the questions I had so, I'll write it up from a TDFi 717 junkie perspective. I spent an inordinate time flying the TDFI 717 with FSDTs Hawaii airports in FSX.   That is pretty much the only reason I bought this -- island hopping.

I'm not missing YOUR STEPS.....

Simbrief is all done before I even start the sim.

I'm simply matching payload, fuel and auto importing my plan into the EFB & MCDU by the time I'm sitting in the cockpit after the flight loads.

And what happens if someone wants to be spontaneous and choose the aircraft, origin, destination, time of day and weather theme AFTER seeing their MSFS world map screen?
Seeing an aircraft in the menu has certainly changed my decision of flight on more than one occasion.

Also, why shouldn't there exist the choice of having MSFS map tool performing the function it is supposed to, rather than rely on another external solution?

Between Simbrief and the simbrief downloader I can set up a flightplan and be ready to fly in minutes. It 's beyond easy and quick.

Looking forward to this. I'm on the fence with this one. I'm not super fussy. I have the PMDG 700 but also had a blast with the Bredok 737 for a couple of months

I'll grab it after CS fixes those issues I've read on their new 717 forums.

Knowing Captain Sim from the past always seem to be making a quick buck.  He makes beautiful planes such as the Boeing 707 and boeing 727, but be prepared for some headaches, gotta take the good with the bad.
