It is NOT a regular release, if you are participating in the beta, you should do tests to provide feedback on bugs, what you did by mentioning the settings issue. But asking for or being disappointed about something pushed back for a later beta build? Seriously? You all still act if the beta is just another regular update, which is simply not the case. You all opted in the beta completely volountarily, if you do not like such things, opt out of it. Simple as that. I never participated in the beta exactly due to this reason: no time nor nerves to deal with even more broken things, so I stay out of the beta and enjoy the regular version as it is. You literally post this almost exact post, every time any one says anything about the beta. Every time without fail. I think that by now, we all understand that it's a beta, and problems are to be expected with a beta. As many of us said the last time you posted your "It's a beta... what did you expect!!!!" post, people are just discussing the issues they are seeing. That's what a discussion forum is for. Each time people mention issues they see with the beta, it really doesn't need you to post telling people how stupid they are for (according to you) not realizing they were using a beta. Simple? Not a chance so do yourself and the rest of us a favor. Quit trying to reduce it to a simple problem or fix, because it isn’t and seldom if ever is. Edited November 13, 20232 yr by btacon

Chris, why do you keep saying this? You must think we are stupid or something. As others have said above. You are missing the point. WE KNOW THIS IS A BETA! But they have introduced a bug that makes it specifically more laborious to test the beta that they want feedback on, and then, after saying they have traced it, two full updates have gone by without resolving it. I am not leaving the beta, and I know what to expect when testing. I have done beta testing on various software for fifteen years, but they shouldn't hold out on issues that make testing the beta more difficult for us. This isn't new by the way. I have lost count on the amount of times I have lost my settings over the last three years, and a couple of log books. They need to get on top of it. It isnt beta related, more of a chronic problem. I very rarely disagree with you, but never mind if it is complex for them or not (we are all guessing), but are you saying the situation is fine then? And we shouldn't be concerned about it or be able to talk about it? Especially in a beta thread? Edited November 13, 20232 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). No while it might seem that way but I too get frustrated and disappointed at times with the progress of these beta updates but then I remember day one of this sim and I see where we are today and I’m forced to admit that these troubles ARE from a beta and like it or not, betas are when tested and proven code gets modified with new features and functions and it can become very fragile so I am content to wait patiently for the end result and now some 38+ months later I’m seldom disappointed. -B

November 13, 20232 yr since they have known about this bug for a while and since they are far from as stupid as some try to make us believe, and as we know the settings that are affected reside on their servers, I can only speculate there is more than meets the beta testers eye, server related or some such, something they might have decided to make major structural changes/upgrades in the background, bigger than we imagine. just because they haven't included a "quick and easy" fix says absolutely nothing about their capabilities. "it takes them an age to fix even the easiest of issues." doesn't sound like you have much programming background, if any. The sim as a whole, I totally agree with you. I never thought we would have a sim like this 3+ years ago. This is specifically about the frustration caused by this bug when trying to test this beta, not the bigger picture of the whole sim. A lot of this frustration is caused by the differing expectations between the beta testers and Asobo on the priorities for which bugs need fixing more urgently, that's all Obviously they don't mean any harm, and they might have a rigid roadmap to stick to, but if I introduced a bug in a beta that specifically made that beta a bit more difficult to test, I would jump on it urgently, or it slightly undermines what you are trying to achieve with the beta test programme. Of course as you say, we don't know how difficult it is proving for them to fix. So a little more info from the official forum mods wouldn't go amiss, rather than just "may not make it into the next update". Just a little "because" might help I think. According to Jorg, we are all one big team after all. Edited November 13, 20232 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
