I’ve not flown the sim 787 in the upper however on a real 787 the rate of climb when heavy above FL350 is excruciatingly slow, it’s embarrassing.

To give you an idea, the other week it took me 34 minutes to climb to FL320 at around 240T.

On the jumbo we’d be up at FL350, seats back with a cup of tea after about 20 minutes 🛫️🫖

That mighty 747 missing those 🥰

I am on a flight with the Kuro 787-8 V.3.0.1 and up to my alt at 38000ft seeing a much better climb now, at least more realistic.

Took me around 140nm to 38000ft what seems pretty OK to me - just to report this issue seems much better if not OK !

I realy don`t know how the bird performs the climb in real life, but well this is not bad to me..

cheers 😉

EDIT: Ready my 2,5h flight and all went fine, so a good update i would say - again now on my favorite airplane list !

Did a JAL domestic flight to Osaka last night.

Flight was not heavy. Made it up to cruise of FL400 no issues at all. Descent required a little monitoring of the speed to prevent it from increasing out of range but nothing outrageous and the vertical profile adherence was very good. The AC captured RNAV nicely and continued on the approach after passing the FAF and setting the missed approach altitude on the MCP.

The only issue i had was that the Auto brakes keep turning itself off when i set it in preparation for arrival. It would just move itself back from whatever setting i left it at and turn itself off. That has never happened to me on any other aircraft in the sim so that's a strange one. Had to land with auto brakes off but the reversers were pretty effective (Possibly too much ? I don't know).

Apart from the Autobrakes undoing itself this is a keeper. I can see myself doing some medium leg runs with it now. I must also mention that it seems light on the resources so that's a big plus as well.

Check sim bindings to buttons and controllers.

Greetings All!

Just wanted to add, that I was looking forward to this update...and I certainly was not disappointed!

I just finished a short flight, KMIA - TJSJ. I was fairly lightly loaded, SimBrief ZFW was 298713lbs, fuel was 35147lbs. The time from take-off to FL410 was approximately 28 minutes. She was a little slippery on descent for the BEANO3 Arrival for ILS 08, but I'm guessing that is normal.

A big thank you to the team for this wonderful airliner!

Regards,

Scott

I understand the 787 loves to fly.  It's just aerodynamic; makes it difficult to slow while descending.

Did the same flight and back. The actual FL for that route is 280-340. Check on FR24.

I had a strange behavior of autoflight though. During VNAV Path descent at  altitude around FL180-200 FMC speed abruptly jumped to 141. It's my Vref+5. The same happened on return flight 🤷🏻‍♂️

This does the 789 from Horizon Sim as well. I also wondered why it does not keep the FMC programmed Speed wich often is much higher then vRef.

Seems a bug or issue to me.

I handled it by monitoring and adjusting the speed manually to higher speed compared to VRef speed.

I did not have any problems with my autobrakes, workes as it should here.

I assume there must be some binding problem for you ?

I can confirm this is correct for the real aircraft, you always need lots of speedbrake and I’d suggest planning descents with a  1 in 4 rule rather than 1 in 3

Looks like it's 78X from Asobo then. Kuro and HS are based on it. I don't think they both can change something so deeply into FMC. Need to check 78X and WT Discord channel.
