Frame generation for all RTX cards

I think this is because how fg works, you need at least 60 fps solid to have no artifacts.

  • Really? It's night and day difference. I'm testing the mod right now, on my "old" 3090, and I get a steady 60 fps, with PMDG 737-800, parked at FSDT KORD, at 5120x1440 32:9, I barely hit 40 befor

  • I'm testing this right now and my mind is blown.  I now understand why all the hype about FG.  3080ti, 4K, mostly high/ultra settings and have been pegged at 60FPS on first test flight in the Fenix.

  • I was one of the people who basically ordered an RTX 4000 series card only because of Frame Generation. And FG is really impressive.  Now I'm glad everyone gets to participate in that experience.

Can anyone show me their in-sim FPS counter when using the FG mod on a 60Hz monitor capped at 60FPS+vSync On in NVCP? Curious to see how the mainthread is looking for others as well as all the other numbers the dev counter shows (yet to achieve an all-over green dev panel with my 2080Ti). I know the FPS is irrelevant and will show 30 within sim, but external it shows 60 of course for me.

I use RivaTuner. Vsync is on with Nvidia Control Panel only. Vsync off in the sim. Gsync is always on windowed and fullscreen.

Riva tuner is set to 58 FPS and I use DynamicLOD (not autofps) and the FPS limiter is DynamicLOD is set to 57.

Smooth nearly everywhere except for New York.

Unfortunately not - you have to use dx 12 with the FG mod. You can use dx11 with the Lossless Scaling app from Steam however.

OK thanks

Guess I'll have to try lossless scaling

Thanks

IIRC the official not modded FG on the 4.XXX series, need the DX12.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

You need dx12 for the modded fG mod too. As mentioned, you can use Lossless Scaling with dx11.

I'm using the FG mod with my 3080 since months now, it works well and I know that it needs the DX12. No need of the Lossless thing, fortunately.

yes runs well but using dx12 there are too many issues with artifacts.

hence why i think i might try lossless scaling.

I have just few artifacts regarding the internal menus and the ghost effect on the digital altimeters, but it's not so boring and the sim is running at full 60 fps.

What artifacts?

Yeah, I've heard mix reports with this "new" version from lossless.

However, the original mod (for this thread) was updated a few days ago. July 9th

Well I have a 4090 card and with the original FG I get acceptable performance (any artifacts barely noticeable) with a base rate of 25 fps and good at 30 fps.  This is with vsync on in NCP and frames locked at 50 in RTSS (monitor refresh rate).  I think having 24 gb of VRAM helps a lot.

Interesting, as I bought the app via steam and there is no update on steam for lossless scaling. What am I doing wrong? And where is the changelog?
