February 5, 20242 yr I just updated to the latest version and I no longer get a box popping up from the mod when launching MSFS. I did update to the latest nvidia driver. Has nvidia blocked this now? I suppose I could always revert to the previous driver. Evan Hardin

If using the (Universal) mode, you don't use the Disable NvidiaSignatureChecks.reg feature. John Wingold
February 6, 20242 yr AFAIK, there are several Universal versions for v0.90. Which one of them should I use for MSFS? February 10, 20242 yr @jcomm Good day sir. I remember you were saying that you capped FPS at 30 while applying FG mod. Just curious, does it reduce your GPU load (and perhaps the temp as well). Thank you Well, my only term of comparison is P3D, and that one really pushed the temps up, so everything in mfs is so smooth in terms of temperature that I never complain... but yes, capping it at 30 makes it more stable than at 60 because I only have a 3060 Ti 8GB, and a 5600x CPU, and it's more than enough for me... I've experienced just a couple NGXI CTDs since I embarked on FS3 FG, so I even considered reverting back to DX11, but so far it's great, and with the TAA it's crisp. MFS is also the smoothest flightsim experience I ever had for the level of graphics / scenery / weather rendering detail. Thank you Yes, your GPU will do the work it takes to deliver whatever base frame rate you're locked to, in jcomm's testimony was 30. The FG mode just squirts another frame in between ones produced by the normal pathway....though something is paying for that, presumably very little for what you get. VRAM is what is paying the price for those extra frames I think. Especially as my RTX3080 only has 10 GB. Next time I can afford to upgrade something in my PC, I think I am going to need to give some consideration to a card with a bit more of it (though that might be quite expensive, not only in terms of a new GPU, but probably another PSU to handle that extra grunt). This is exactly my limitation using FGEN since Im using a laptop (i7 12650 + RTX 3050) The problem is, the 3050 only comes with 4GB, way below than yours. It is fair to say my VRAM is struggling to cope with DX12, let alone coupled with FGen. That's why I experienced two GPU related crashes when I unlocked FPS. But, most of the time it handles Fgen generally well when the fps is caged, but again, the heat management is another challenge. February 11, 20242 yr Giving a bit more thought to this, whilst framegen is causing more VRAM usage, the real culprit is actually DX12 not being properly optimised by MSFS. It maybe worth holding off spending any cash on hardware upgrades for the time being if, like most of us you are likely to migrate to MSFS 2024 at the end of the year as this will be coded not only to utilise multicore CPUs but to also optimise DX12 (though a 4000 series would still be nice if the prices drop).
