Frame generation for all RTX cards

Featured Replies

I'm using this mod since last December with my rtx 3080 and FS20 store, it works wonderfully with my new 4K monitor. It needs some tweaking with the G-Sync settings (active) with the Vsyinc and the fps limiter (60) in the Nvidia control panel.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

  • I'm testing this right now and my mind is blown.  I now understand why all the hype about FG.  3080ti, 4K, mostly high/ultra settings and have been pegged at 60FPS on first test flight in the Fenix.

  • I was one of the people who basically ordered an RTX 4000 series card only because of Frame Generation. And FG is really impressive.  Now I'm glad everyone gets to participate in that experience.

Me too. Works great with my rtx4090 😄

Yes, there are visual artifacts, a lot of them when rotating the view when there are 2D elements visible on screen (like open menus), but it works great, and it might give a glimpse of what an eventual official FSR3 implementation in the sim would look like.

I think users gaining the most from this mode, are those with 3080/3090s, which while still perfectly capable cards, have been rendered "obsolete" by the 4000-series, because nVidia wanted to make the new ones appear much better than they really are, by not allowing frame generation on the previous models.

If you own a good card like a 3080/3090 (I think even something like a 2080Ti should work well), wait at least for the official FSR3 implementation by Asobo before deciding to buy a 4000.

See if I get it right. So you set limiter to 30 FPS but it can actually jump to 60 fps without tearing screen when moving views?

Well, I am actually in a "good-old" 3060 Ti 8GB and it performs just GREAT!!!

Yesterday fetched version 0.90 from Nexus Mods.

My doubt is if I should limit FPS in Nvidia Inspector by using 1/2 Adaptive Refresh rate, which gives me 30+ fps, sometimes with lows of 28, or use the FPS limiter option in NCP instead ?

Is anyone experiencing a RAM leak with this mod? I did a flight GCTS EGBB and the RAM usage went from around 7 to 17 whilst airborne. No traffic or other mod.

Check your other mods or addons, this mod does not have any impact on ram.

I'd think you may try using traditional VSync in Inspector. I don't use it for limiting FPS; I use RTSS instead. In MSFS with this mod, I have to set it to 60.

I have it set to my monitor refresh rate (60) in NVCP and it is as smooth as any metaphor you can name.

With gsync do you still need to set vsync?

I finally got FG to work, the best state I have had so far, after 2-3 attempts (fail and revert to dx11).

I am not sure what I did but this weekend I applied DLSS Swapper, used the latest version, and installed Dynamic Lod and set it up to my preferences.

Of course ghosting and occasional shimmer/tearing are there but they are far more tolerable compared to previous attempts. However, once the plane is on runway/ramp, the "alt+enter" workaround (window mode and back) needs to be applied. Thank you @mryan75

Glad you got it working! There are some different ways to try and refine the image, but it's definitely a game-changer.

I do. This is one of those weird settings: the standard advice is Vsync on in the Program Settings tab in NVCP and off in the sim, but some people have had success with it on in both NVCP and the sim. Which of course doesn't make sense, but that happens sometimes.

Okay thanks. I guess as long as it is smooth that is all that matters.

Ok, tried a few variants and for my setup with a 60 Hz monitor the best combination is:

- vsync off in the game settings

- adaptive 1/2 refresh rate in NCP or NPI.

For my rig this os the best compromise.
