So hopefully it is static scenery.  Best leave the A380 to FBW I think.

IMO, far too much detail on the model and texturing (excluding the Arabic writing that is a copy/paste) for it to be used as a static in any upcoming scenery of theirs.

If it is a static, then they can bloody well optimise it or make it a selectable option to remove for performance sake.

As they've said that their A380 is on hold, could it not just be that they've used it's external model [...] [for] promos like this

Possibly. Though after their "it's not OMDB", but using OMDB as the backdrop in their A300 promo video and teasing us with a Dubai-specific liveried high-performance Police car, I'm disinclined to 100% believe everything they say.

This is iniBuilds. Optimization and low poly is not exactly a hallmark of any of their sceneries thus far. Even KSAT when it came out would easily bring my system to its knees with the detailed interior etc., why would the statics be any different?

I have to disagree, that texture is way too blurry/compressed to be a usable aircraft, especially an ini one. You also can't see into the windows, All of ini's aircraft have cabin interiors (so far), and those windows are clearly textured on, not models.

This door would be more readable on an ini aircraft.

Hi, did anyone see these pictures from Reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2F1p5tpafjxa7c1.png%3Fwidth%3D311%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dc8d2f8e815d08ee94053617ea1b23805abe3e20e

Does anybody know when iniBuilds made this comment in their Discord? Was this comment made this week?

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fguwk8l0n5b7c1.png%3Fwidth%3D234%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Db1be3fa7ed9bb5e07806db72908b436134aac59c

What's this? Are those roles on iniBuild's Discord server? This last picture, if true, would be the strongest indication that iniBuilds will announce they are working on an A380 for MSFS, if it's the roles that iniBuilds has created on their Discord server.

Very likely that its the a380. But then I wonder why the a380, the FBW one is looking fantastic as it is.... unless they have collaborated. Conspiracies are running wild this week with a few devs ha!

No collaboration has been done between the two parties. What FBW is making is wholly done within FBW.

Looks like we’re getting double double deckers then.

If it's true that MSFS is getting two decent fidelity A380s, that's a huge, huge win.

There wasn't even one decent fidelity A380 before this. Now MSFS will have two, if the iniBuilds rumor on the A380 is true.  What a time to be an MSFS user!

Ya I've been following the iniBuilds discord frequently and that comment about "stay tuned for rest of week" for non-A300 stuff is about the various sales and reveals they have coming like the Dubai scenery, the reveal about what their "modern long-haul airbus" project is (to be announced after the A300 release and before eoy, and explicitly stated that it's *not* the A380), etc. Now if something more substantial about their A380 is also revealed I'll happily take it but that's doubtful (I'm still of the belief the A380 shown in the A300 trailer is a static model from their new Dubai scenery, but will love to be wrong hehe).

They've said multiple times on their discord that their A380 is still in plan but put on the backburner for now (the discord role for the A380 updates has been there from since they announced the A380 a while back). But yes, pretty cool we have two A380s coming for MSFS, one freeware and one payware.

Btw, this is what they said about the secret aircraft project a couple of months back: https://discord.com/channels/535246634448191499/535249224254619648/1162389134015471626
Josh 6948eb91babde3f1d035ddfe4cf8b10d.webp?si13/10/2023 09:59
okay I'll say it:
The secret project is a modern long haul Airbus
The announcement is planned before end of year
No we will not say what it is before then
It's not the A380
It's a project by us, for us. So any MS projects we're working on, are also not the secret project

So current consensus is that this modern long-haul is an A330 likely, with a lower chance of being an A350 (I've all fingers crossed for the A350!). Maybe even an A340 but not sure if it could be classified under "modern".

So I did some digging in the iniBuilds Discord channel.  Here is the speculation for that Reddit thread, based on ini_001's post and comment in Discord:

tPBnnG0.png

And here is the direct link to ini_001's post in the Discord channel (ini_001's post and comment was from yesterday):

https://discord.com/channels/535246634448191499/535249224254619648/1186706960905687180

Maybe ini_001 posted a photo of the A380 as misdirection before posting "Stay tuned for the rest of the week! If A300 is not your cup of tea."  Yeah, iniBuild's comments earlier in the year that it's not an A380 would mean it's an A330/A340/A350.  So maybe ini_001 is just playing games and using misdirection. I don't know, lol.  I guess we will find out before the end of the year.

It´s not a 747 so the only possible plane this could be is only the A380 😉

But I don´t think they are going to release it soon - or do they?

Posted (edited)

Given ini has finally announced their Dubai landmarks + skydive scenery for free (https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/20297-inibuilds-skydive-dubai-airport-landmarks-omdu-for-microsoft-flight-simulator-released/) now one truly has to wonder about the A380s shown in the A300 trailer and teased on discord.. the scenery pack doesn't include DXB/OMDB airport as far as I can see, the new scenery is about the city's landmarks and the OMDU skydive airport, so doesn't include the main airport that'd have the A380s, so hmmm 🙂

EDIT: per discord discussion the full DXB/OMDB airport might come later this week as payware
