Okay girls and boys, when you wake up on Christmas morning and Santa has been down the chimney, eaten the mince pies, and left your presents, let us know what you were lucky enough to get.

And as an addendum, my brother found a copy of Jane’s USNF’97, boxed and still in shrink wrap, as a gift for me.  USNF was one of my favourite games ever back in the day…to me it was a mid-fidelity combat sim the likes of which is a huge gap in between DCS and Ace Combat right now.

Now I just need to figure out how to hack this to work on a modern computer or find myself a retro computer to play it on 😀

Life and good health!  My 91st Christmas and 90th birthday and I woke up!

A few days ago I went to DMV to renew my driver's license and got an early present when they renewed it for me.  Not many here at Peachtree still have their licenses.

Yesterday a lady and her husband drove down from Ruidoso to take me to lunch at The Red Lobster and had them bring me a small birthday cake.  Mary was one of my troops in my old National Guard unit and her husband, Joe, is a retired American Airlines pilot.   Such a nice early Christmas/birthday gift to be remembered like that.

And from the powers that be the ability to walk straight without a cane or a walker and the gift of mobility and freedom that I can still drive myself around.

At my age and station in life material gifts are not as important as still being healthy and mobile and  remembered and respected.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Fantastic, Noel. Happy 90th birthday my dear friend. I turn 75 on January 21st. I celebrated both Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve at the Grand Ave. United Methodist Church, who offer free dinner after a short prayer service. The food was fabulous!

The Area Agency on Aging arranged for some Christmas gifts of some much needed clothing for me this year. The new tires on my ancient Camry will probably outlive me... 😄

The same from me, Noel.

If I miss it, an early birthday salute to you too Bill.  I turned 74 on the first day of this month. As the old saying goes, "If I knew I would live this long, I would have taken better care of myself."

Wish you both the best and many more.

I'll put that in my diary so I remember to send you lots of photos of exploding rockets as a present. 😸
