DLSS Swapper reset after update

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

In trying to set my DLSS to Ultra Quality i discovered the latest update in the sim resets the DLSS file to its original... may pay to check this and re-swap it to the 3.5.1 version..

Just a heads up

Cheers

Yup, MSFS updates always do that.

Interestingly however, most popular AAA games are now updating themselves to the latest DLSS versions.

MSFS however......

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Good. Was wondering how to reset this using the swapper and had no idea which was the original version. Anybody knows? Would the give 3.5.1 another try

Why would a World Update reset that? They don't touch the mechanics of the sim. Those are done by the Sim Updates.

Whilst I would think the same, if others are noticing it is reverting back, I will check mine.  TBH, I didn't really notice any performance difference from either version.

You won't.  There are some minor technical changes in the versions at best.  I have swapped between the MSFS preferred version and V3.5.10.0 and I have not noticed one iota of difference to either frame rate or the ghosting.
Previous claims of a 30% improvement in performance () were just preposterous.  I am just going to leave mine where MS / Asobo put it for now.

If it did bring 30% improvement and sorted out the flat panel fuzzyness, MS and Asobo would be shouting "SWAP to V3 IMMEDIATELY!, SWAP TO V3!", or they would do it themselves.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The update didn't affect me - it's still at 3.5.0.0.  (My original default was 2.4.12.0)

Edit: Might be because I have the Steam version - maybe ?

I’ve seen many, many reports of the change doubling people’s FPS. As with anything MSFS-related, what doesn’t work for one person can work wonders for others and vice versa. I have heard from multiple people with 4090’s whose experience was completely transformed with this one change. It may not have any effect for you, which you’ve made clear.

Thanks, before reading this I didnt know anything about DLSS. I checked and mine was on 2.something.something so got the DLSSS Swapper app and changed it to latest.

Have to say, in the past week I've been sat home (nastiest cold bug I've ever had and spent far more time here than I normally would)

Its been an education, thanks to all the experience shared here

But did it make any noticeable difference to how your sim performs ?

Also, just worth pointing out that this is patently untrue. The stock version in MSFS is 2.4.12, which was released in August 2022; the current version, 3.5.1, was released in November 2023. DLSS is Artificial Intelligence. If you think 15 months of machine learning on NVidia's supercomputers is going to amount to "minor technical changes" you clearly don't understand what DLSS is.

I'm glad someone posted this, I didn't think to check until I saw this thread. Mine was reverted back to 2.4.12.

a video is worth a thousand words. could you please show a youtube and screenshot to support your claims so we can all enjoy Nvidia's supercomputers benefits to MSFS, which Asobo decided to keep a secret for themselves?

May I ask which version of the sim have you got - MS Store or Steam?
