February 9, 20242 yr ImagineSim has released their updated version of Atlanta. Here are the new changes. - Fantastic performance with comprehensive optimization. - New modelling and thousands of other improvements. - Custom interactive SafeGateTM Visual Docking Guidance (VDGS). - New landscaping, PBR and terrain modelling. - Fluid usage, even with complex airliner cockpits and high density AI coverage. - Interactive bespoke jetways and animations. - Instantaneous scenery cache loading and low simulator impact. - 15 square mile coverage of the KATL area. - Graduated ground extremities to seamlessly blend with any vector driven add-on. - Utilizes imaginesim's bespoke Operations Center configuration GUI. Even though I own the original I'm going to pass on the free update. It's still missing a few things as reported by others. - No Whiskey Loop on the south side. <- How do you update an airport and not add the new loop? - Terminal "T" expansion missing. - Missing new Delta facilities and Fire Station south of main terminal where Whiskey taxiway should be. - Same outdated FBO. - Missing Delta Tech Ops Engine Test Facility. - Missing multi-story parking garage behind Delta Tech Ops. February 9, 20242 yr I bought this when it first came out but changed over to the Asobo version as soon as it was released. I will definitely give this updated version a try....it would be nice to have runway lights on 28/10 which have been missing forever on the Asobo default (I reported it numerous times on the MS forums). February 9, 20242 yr Author Unless you purchased it directly from ImagineSim, users will have to wait several weeks for the update to show on the Marketplace. February 9, 20242 yr Meh I passed on the first version because it had bad reviews and so I think I’ll wait and see what people are saying before I buy this. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
February 9, 20242 yr Inwoukd appreciate anyone who has loaded this to verify the Whiskey Loop and the South Cargo hangars have been added. I cannot “IMAGINE” they would risk another PR disaster of that magnitude. Watching this space with cautious optimism… Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

No way. After three years they don't make sure at least the taxiways are up to date?! What "update" is this? For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
February 9, 20242 yr If you have verified this- please post here and on FB so that they are made aware of these glaring shortcomings. Thanks! Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

The question was asked on there page about it with no replies. February 9, 20242 yr They are one of the developers who didn’t make the leap successfully from p3d to msfs. One would think it would take much to beat the handcrafted version. February 9, 20242 yr Can confirm the Whiskey loop is not there. I thought maybe they used an old photo in the preview...😄 Only did a quick look around...doesn't look much different than the original release. I noticed there is still no elevation change near the Delta hangars and taxiway E. Asobo got that right in their version. I think Imaginesim did better with the night lighting, especially at the gates. The Asobo version is very dark at the gates for some reason. 28/10 also has runway lights now which are missing in the default. If you already bought it at some point, it's worth taking a look (remember to remove the default!!)...I am not sure it is worth it for a new purchase over the default/Asobo version. I will have to see how it performs on a flight... Edited February 9, 20242 yr by Flic1 Eric i9-12900k, RTX 5070ti OC, 32GB ddr5 5600 RAM, 2TB 980 Pro SSD, Titan 240RX AIO, Samsung CRG90 49", Win 11

Wow such a shame the buisiest airport in the World can't get no love from any developer, not even in MSFS.

February 9, 20242 yr I left a comment on their facebook page when they showed some previews. I believe it sums up this update pretty well: Quote Based on this screenshot, it looks like you guys haven't done much to actually update the airport. The large concourse B renovation of the Delta lounge is still not there, despite construction being done on it years ago; you're still using near-decade-old sat imagery for the C concourse roof. It's not dark asphalt; it's a near-white color like the rest of the terminals. The gates at the north end of the C concourse are completely incorrect, which confirms that you guys didn't learn from the 2015 FSX release on placing gates accurately and not just whereever you please, so I presume all over the airport gates are incorrectly placed and oriented, just like in the FSX release. And based on the recent screenshot, the latest taxiways haven't even been done. I had my hopes for this, but it looks like this will be another disappointing update with minimal work and continuing to reuse the same (incorrect) assets from the 2015 FSX/P3D version. Hope iniBuilds or someone else tackles this. I'll be surprised if you guys even included the completely redeveloped north-end of the T gates.
