February 18, 20242 yr I agree. They are definitely not the best in terms of optimization. But at the same time I have enough VRAM hanging around that I accept it for a much better looking scenery. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
February 18, 20242 yr OK, perhaps someone can assist. I got GSX working but is there any documentation? Where do you select between textures? I see animated people but only in a tiny portion of the J gates. I purchased via inibuilds however there is no forum support for KMIA yet that I could see. Very close to just going back to the LatinVFR version... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Very close to just going back to the LatinVFR version... It's a scenery, I'm not sure what there is to document other than the textures choice. If you installed via iniManager, you can select the texture through iniManager on your product page. If you don't do it that way and/or don't use iniManager, Orbx's product page has a description on how to change the textures that are used.

I didn't know if there were any options other than the textures, as I mentioned I only see the J gates modeled with animated people on the South side of the airport, not sure of the A-D gates or if that was configurable but it's a bit of bait and switch to show screenshots of a fully modelled interior but fail to mention it's only in limited areas, hence looking for documentation before I started jumping to conclusions. Didn't seem like a strange ask... Good on Orbx by the way, inibuilds has nothing on how to change the textures nor any support for KMIA in the forum scenery section... ORBX is $35.20 AUD, which they say is $22.99 USD. So ORBX may be the less expensive option, saving a whopping 7 cents! If you see $18USD please share the link... Joe Joe Lorenc
February 18, 20242 yr Sorry about that, inibuilds says 18.30 GBP, when u take a quick look u think its US dollars. Anyway I just bought it today was roaming around with the PMDG 737-800 and frames on my system were between 14 and 22, which kind of stinks, Most of my graphic settings are on Ultra and High and TLOD is at 150 and also runnjing Samscene, and FS Traffic I have bought many airports from this developer such as CYUL,KSEA, KOAK, KMEM, and all except KPHX, whiich is a bit choppy. 10700kf, 3080 nividia, 32gbs 3400mhz, 1,000 watts power, M.2 DVMe !tb, boot, 1tb 7200rpm, storage, windows 10 home

I haven't looked at the interiors, so I don't know where they modelled them and where they didn't. However, Alexey of BMWorld tends to be responsive and can be reached at [email protected].

It's not about emailing him it's about him being accurate about the product description vs what is more like a bit of a bait and switch technique. When you show images like these and then state animated people as "features" just be transparent and let people know the entire airport isn't modeled like this... Ironically, even both their screenshots show the J gates which is the only place I've found the terminal interior modeled... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Not everyone is so lucky.

De-activated KMIA within GSX, loaded MSFS configured all gates to have a jetway and all is working as expected. Figured I'd put my resolution here in case anyone has the same issue. That's one of the quirks of GSX that are annoying. It doesn't see half my addon airports and doesn't exclude them from the jetway replacement feature. I constantly have to exlcude them manually first. Edited February 19, 20242 yr by threexgreen

You can be sure GSX will automatically detect 3rd party airports, assuming they conform to the official naming convention suggested in the SDK, which mandates a package should be named using the following pattern: developer-airport-icao-airportname. Of course, this is only enforced by Microsoft for products released on the Marketplace, but if you have airports that don't respect this standard (usually freeware or payware not on the Marketplace), GSX cannot possibly identify them automatically, because while checking only the package name is very fast, scanning deep ALL files of ALL packages in the whole Community folder, trying to identify which of them contains airports, is extremely time consuming and not very reliable. Which is why the GSX manual clearly explains that airports with non-conforming package names must be added manually. If you encountered a case of an airport that comes in a package that conforms to the official naming convention and it hasn't been found by GSX, report it, and we'll verify it.
