MSFS Auto FPS App

Featured Replies

Based upon this and the DynamicLOD topic, I feel compelled to post this.

During a 20+ year career with the largest data processing firm at the time, I was involved with many large customer accounts having lead system designers, lead application designers, lead application programmers, lead systems programmers, and lead technical support. All were were extremely capable and impressive within their own particular category of the five, but none were  as capable or impressive across all of them.

With that as ancient history, I have now encountered one who is extremely capable and impressive across all five categories, which in my estimation is you, Reset. Thank you so much for your highly significant efforts and contributions towards our MSFS enjoyment.

Are you aware this is how FSUIPC was created many years ago? It takes a very clever person to disassemble a executable and analyse the contents. The original UIPC was created by Adam Zofran and then P

I see in the readme , it shows Uninstall , but I see nothing about uninstalling it if the users runs into a problem with it. That's kind of scary. I looked all over and can't find anyway to uninstall it. So once you install it, you are stuck with it??

You can't just delete the folders et al.?

SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

Might be possible to uninstall using a 3rd party app e.g. iobit uninstaller.

I have no idea what has been added to the SIM.

Nothing.

Except an entry to the exe.xml file if you chose that option on installation.

Per my message to you and for the benefit of others wanting to do the same thing, to uninstall simply run the installer and select remove on the first window. This will remove all traces of the app, including the desktop icon, MSFS or FSUIPC autostart entries if you used them, and the entire app folder, including your configuration file.

I have updated the readme to state this more clearly.

These rules sound like made for IFR flights in tubeliners. With GA aircraft on VFR flights (or aerobatic, helicopter, ornithopter, ..., you name it) you can't easily determine from the altitude profile if the pilot is going to land. So, there should be some dynamic behaviour for low'n slow flyers, if possible. Maybe, even a simple option "flying low" that activates another ruleset would be cool. Just my 2 cents, many thanks anyway for this great tool!

Yes, it is GA aircraft presenting me the challenge. The best option for GA aircraft at the moment is to not use the TLOD Min on Ground/Landing, so essentially VFR mode is already there, but then I have found that with DX12 the ground texture tearing issue is quite exacerbated (I really wish Asobo would fix this one, for everyone not just users of this app). I'll have a think about it some more. Thanks for your input.

Can't thank @Reset XPDR enough for his contributions to the community.

A naive question, as I'm trying to keep up with dozens of forum posts: these two apps should be used as "either/or", right?  Not Auto FPS in parallel with Dynamic LOD?

Thank you very much!

Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

Yes I would love to jump in but I don't have the time to read all the many posts..is there a quick summary of which program does what specifically and does it come with default settings that are a good starter?

Seems like Reset has created a blinding program for MSFS.

Many Thanks

Only one can be used at the same time as MSFS.

You can find this on github. MSFS2020_AutoFPS has an up to date readme here. For DynamicLOD_ResetEdition the readme can be found here.

Thank you very much!

It's covered in the recently updated readme:

  • This utility can be installed concurrent with any DynamicLOD variant. You just shouldn't run them at the same time, as they would both be fighting each other with MSFS settings. AutoFPS can detect whether itself or and previous DynamicLOD variant is running and will quit if it finds one. DynamicLOD_ResetEdition 0.3.7 does the same except it doesn't know about AutoFPS because I started that after 0.3.7 was released, so you need to be aware of that potential conflict if you start DynamicLOD_ResetEdition 0.3.7 after MSFS_AdaptiveLOD. The next DynamicLOD_Reset version will be fully AutoFPS aware.

I would like to give a big 'THANK YOU' as well. Excellent app, thanks for sharing it with the community!

Much appreciated!
