MSFS Auto FPS App

Featured Replies

Not sure how I just came across this tool!!??  Will be trying on my next flight but wanted to check about using it with Vsync and FPS lock within the sim.  I'm running my monitor at 60hz (default is 120) and then run 1/2 refresh in the sim for 30 fps lock.  From what I am reading, I should set the FPS target to 10% less (27) in the app?  I do have issues at bigger airports where I cannot maintain the 30 on the ground and drop to low 20's so this might help the issue.

you should atleast get marketplace stuff for free ! iam not kidding

ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. OS  2TB 980 Pro , MSFS  2TB WD Black , Kington Fury 64GB ram ( 6000) Corsair RM1000 PSU, Artic Freezer iii 360 AIO  . Warthog Stick and TCA Captains throttle ( full pack)  Velocity 1 Rudder Pedals , extreme3D for the Tiller,Streamdeck XL x2 / Streamdeck +/Streamdeck mini because i like pressing buttons

I just hope if they did include it, it would be customisable like yours is. Where we can still choose our max and min. It would bad if everyone was forced to have low LOD when they wanted more.

Well said. They should embrace your novel ideas instead of making blanket statements that simply are not rooted in reality. In my profession we have a term for this: delusions.

Honestly, I find their lack of faith disturbing.

Perhaps we can find new ways to motivate them. 😄

I'm currently doing another VFR flight in non-expert mode. When I first started on the ground in PC FG mode, the conditions were good enough for the auto TLOD Min to increase from 50 to 100 because FG gives me a lot of FPS headroom. I then switched to VR and conditions were marginal for my target FPS and it then stayed at TLOD Min 50, so it looks like this functionality is working well on the ground. Still a bit more to check on descent though but I think we are getting close to formal release of 0.4.2.

I'm scheduled to arrive in Honolulu in approximately 26 mins. I'll take a GA up for a spin and investigate. I'd expect a lot of the Hawaiian islands are not heavy-hitters, although O‘ahu/Honolulu with AI traffic might be.

I've been flying my latest test version, the only change in which is back to 5% default tolerance for non-expert mode rather than 2% in the last test version I published. I think 5% is better so I'll put out another test version shortly putting it back to that.

I have the test version now and it says 5%

New Test Version 07Mar242120Z here:

  • Changed FPS tolerance back to 5% for non-expert default due better automation responsiveness than at 2%.

The expert settings default is not the same as the non-expert default setting, which I set internally, so you should update to this latest version if your are testing non-expert mode and have it the same way I intend it to release like.

Yeah, I like the expert mode much more, that's all I use now.

I've very recently discovered a couple more minor tweaks it needs, like I need to recalculate cloud recovery TLOD when TLOD min is automatically increased and I need to prime the higher TLOD Min earlier in the flight profile, but for the most part testers wouldn't even notice them unless they were specifically looking for them like I am, but otherwise I am very happy with how non-expert mode is shaping up.

Just landed in Honolulu in the A300. Interesting to see the TLOD Min dynamic "live". AGL 2000 TLOD 80-100 AGL 1000 TLOD 40-50. OLOD 200 constant IIRC. Clouds high.

Not sure how demanding Honolulu is (I'm using ini's PNHL) - but I noticed very little FTV i.e. good frame time consistency during the whole approach and go-around.

Off topic: For A300 pilots planning to hand-fly a go-around, please remember to select LVL/CH to climb with FD guidance. Otherwise you might be tricked into flying level when target speed is reached. As I just did (nearly wrecked the bird in the mountains of Oahu lol).

I've tried KLAX with samscene modern cities, and FSLTL AI and with this tool I get around 30fps. Even though I have it locked to 60fps in NVCP and AutoFPS target FPS set to 40.
