Molten buildings everywhere lately.

Changing servers does nothing but change multiplayer traffic.  It has zero impact on your graphical data streaming.

I tried that with no change in performance.

I think it highly depends on the quality of the server connection to Microsoft. Yesterday I made a video overflying lower Manhattan. Absolutely everything was being rendered correctly at any one time, no melted buildings. As far as I was able to see in the distance.

Today: exactly the same flight and I can see buildings being rendered just below the nose of my aircraft. Btw: both yesterday and today I'm on the same VPN connection, so no difference there.

I just made a post re: this issue in the SU15 new beta update thread:

And btw I got some issues with buildings not being fully rendered today that I didn't see yesterday. Or perhaps "popping-in" - don't know exactly how to describe but it should be easy to see in the video. Could be cause of lower altitude, server connection etc etc etc I truly dunno.

I think someone (in this thread?) made a comment re: VPN (EDIT: @Nemo). I honestly don't know if it makes a difference. Some MSFS-days are good, some are worse... I do notice a huge difference though when downloading e.g. WUs and such when using VPN connected to the "right" servers though. HUGE difference (2-3Mbps vs up to 300...)

EDIT: Definitely something up with "server connection" today, just got a "bandwidth too low for photogrammetry" message. Also, I just now noticed that Ethernet usage (NET1 in the first screenshot) was quite high - 10.4 MB/s = 83.2 Mbps. Which is quite high. Way lower than my home fiber-optic broadband though. But somehow the connection to the particular MSFS server *might* have been not good enough to render the thousands of objects within a TLOD of 4-500. Again I dunno - these things are above my head.

Currently running MSFS in the background (Vertigo in a holding pattern over lower Manhattan). HWiNFO reports around 9.5 MB/s average DL rate. Not downloading anything else at the moment.

Hi,

Also no difference with ProtonVPN. I think it's on their end.

This is what I get and this is after passing NYC already so you'd think the data would already be loaded.

In the default DA62 and default NYC, the outside view of the buildings always looks melted to me. I have a pretty good system (summary: i13900k, ASUS 4090, NVMe 2TB drive) and decent internet for the northeast US (882.3 Mbps down and 232.3 Mbps up). The apocalyptic buildings and the blurry screen in DLS annoy the word not allowed out of me. Hoping someone finds a fix.

Same. I noticed your VPN thread eariler today. Perhaps we don't have the melted building issue as we're both using VPN?

Your PG is off. That's default. Not PG.

I still had the melted building issue after trying a few of the suggestions. But once i switched to a VPN connection things look way better. Thanks for the tip!

PG is on in those photos.

All of the buildings, railroad yard and stadium shown in Phoenix are PG.

American Airlines Center shown at Dallas is PG but the skyscrapers in downtown Dallas are not PG, those are default autogen.

To have PG skyscrapers, Reunion Tower etc in Dallas, you'll have to have an addon scenery for it.

Yeah, I probably already said this (relax I have the man cold) but I am pretty sure its on the Asobo/MS end. I often venture out of the Teteboro/Laguardia/JFK heading West/North or South etc and sometimes it looks amazing. Sometimes, it's terrible.

Well said! Don't think there's not much we can do about the issue (except a direct Ethernet connection to one of MS' servers).

Man cold?
