Directx 12 with FG using a 3080. I'm old school...been simming for over 40 years, so my expectations are different than those newer to MSF. I'm willing to put up with occasional glitches for higher frame rate and sharper display. It's amusing to read all the minor complaints like unrealistic bolts on the wings or LOD not perfect on the horizon miles away, or live weather not precisely correct,  etc. When my wife comes in my office and asks me to do something...that kills immersion a lot more than any rare stuttering.

DX11 preferred. With DX12 ground texture issue at many payware/freeware airports.

DX11. I tried DX12 in the days when it was not that mature and it was not working well. Haven't tried since, mainly because DX11 works good enough for my needs.

Well,

my last MSFS 2020 install was on DX12 + FG through FSR3, but now I've reverted to DX11, and so far so good in terms of performance.

I intend to use mainly the Fenix and the FBW 320 NEO.

My 3060 Ti with just 8GB never gave other than a spurious DXGI error, but this turn around I'll stay DX11 🙂

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

How do you all people do with custom camera transitions? I mean, does the camera move violently from one viewpoint to another? I want to go back to DX11 (more stable and no artifacts), but this prevents me from doing so.

Will test it later today ( UTC here in Portugal ) and report back..

Views are a bit weird in MSFS, and I haven't used any drone camera modes ever 😕

Getting a new PC with a 4070TI Super....Is FG really smooth? Trying to see if there is a reason why I WOULDN"T want to use DX12?

FG is the best thing I ever seen with 40 series cards, effectively doubling my frames turning MSFS liquid smooth. Only downside is that DX12 still in beta, you may encounter some graphics glitches with some 3rd party airports, like some incorrect texturing on the ground.
