DX12 improved a lot after the last SU.    But it's still not quite there for me.  As a RTX 3080 user who is not using the FG hack, I still find DX11 and TAA the best overall, visually.    And experiments with various DLSS settings just comprimised the visuals for a relatively tiny performance improvement (sometimes none at all).   With AutoFPS I get really great performance in all scenarios with DX11 and TAA.      Why fix it if it ain't broke.

Before I vote, I'm a little confused. I use DX12 with TAA and Frame Generation on a 4000 series card. Which option in the poll should I select? Or perhaps that needs to be added to the options.

I selected DX11 mode right off the bat when I installed MSFS for the first time last November. I have not even considered DX12 mode, due to the fact that it apparently requires more VRAM. Since I have a relatively old PC with only 6GB VRAM (and MSFS is running far better than I could ever have dreamed at the moment), I prefer not to rock the boat

I'd say the third option, since you use Frame Generation but not through AMD FSR3...

But thank you for your comment and I just edited the description of the options 🙂

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

For most of the time since the initial release of MSFS, I'd used DX11. DX12, for me at least, produced graphics artifacts and stutters. Following the sim update from about six months ago, however, I've been able to use DX12 successfully. All the stutters and graphics artifacts are now gone. As a bonus, I'm now able to enjoy the benefits of Frame Generation on my 4090 card, which aren't available when using DX11.

DX11 with VR, DX12 has never got beat with performance and has remained in beta for far too long. I keep checking though, hopefully get to use it one day.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

DX 12 + TAA with Driver based Frame Generation (AMD GPU)

For me DX12 is too smooth to ignore. I can deal with a few missed tiles at the apron, However i do note that i haven't seen any missing tiles since this last beta update so fingers crossed they have squashed that bug or at least reduced its occurrence to a minimum

Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke + TCA Sidestick + TFRP Rudders

Would much prefer to use DX12 for the FG mod and better performance.

However, fewer artefacts, better VRAM management, incompatibility between the Fenix A320 and FG mod mean I'm sticking with DX11.

DX12 with Frame Generation ( RTX 4k+ series only... )

I only have a $280 cpu (58003DX), old $90 AM4 MB, older tech 32 GB RAM ($110), 600 watt power supply. All because these are cheap. But the GPU is a 4070 because the bang for buck on any 4000 series card is enormous! So it was worth the $550 that 4070s cost nowadays. If I was playing other games instead of MSFS, then I wouldn't give a hoot about FG. But I'm not going to play MSFS without it !

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I just ditched TAA for DLSS/DLSSG in Ultra Quality mode

Now that you mention it - I don't think I've seen any texture artifacts since latest beta either? Maybe they resolved it!

I've been running DX12 ever since it became an option. SU10 autumn 2022 I believe it was. All of a sudden, so many had Holy Grail performance with the first build 😅

I prefer DX12 + FG (RTX4070TI) and DLSS/DLAA for a reason here local...

I’m using DX12 with the FG mod and TAA. Works really well with my 3930k and rtx2070.

I don’t have any problems with artifacts. Yes, if I open the ATC window it’s a little scrambled but I like to fly with as clear a screen as possible so it doesn’t bother me at all.

I use TrackIr and don’t get any screen tearing either
