Will MSFS license allow for install on two PCs

Featured Replies

By the same owner of both PCs, but perhaps only one can connect at a time?

YES i use to have it installed on 2 PC , but some addons like PMDG and Fenix will  only work installed on one PC at a time and MSFS can only be played one 1 x PC at a time. If you load it up on the second PC while you are flying it logs you out of the game. Its the same with PC and XBOX you can only play it on one or the other at the same time.

AFAIK if you want to run multiple copies of MSFS in parallel, you have to buy a copy of MSFS for each computer using different Microsoft accounts. If you can share addons between them depends on the licensing for those addons. Some developers allow installing the addon on more than one computer as long as it belongs to you.

I have one MSFS bound to my regular Microsoft account and bought another copy on Steam, where one can create a second MS account in the process.

I have MSFS (single license) and PMDG (single license) for MSFS installed on 2 PC,s.

PMDG (single license) works on both MSFS PC's.

MSFS (single license) cannot be running on both PC's at the same time.

Here I have 2 Pc’s with both a seperate copy of MSFS.

Each one a different MS Store account and a different XBox Live account.

Yes, it's legal and possible to install MSFS on 2 or more PCs, but you can't fly it simultaneously on them. See here: https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/can-i-install-on-2-pcs-with-1-license-premium-deluxe/7744

For certain add-ons this may or may not work, depending on whether or not the dev implements additional copy protections measures, and how many parallel install they allow.

I reckon it should work ok for all add-ons purchased in the market place.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

I have MSFS on a PC and on a gaming laptop. This is totally possible. The only limitation is that you cannot play MSFS on both at the same time.

This is the one thing that I didn't like the most in earlier versions of P3D. You have to uninstall or de-activate the desktop copy of the client module In order to play on your laptop and vice-versa. Kudos to MSFS for making it more convenient to play on the desktop and laptop.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Agreed. I actually have MSFS on four different PC’s, and I’ve never had an issue. Also, my settings transfer from one PC to the next.

That's great, and unambiguous--thanks ;o).

A question for those who have MSFS (MS store version) installed on more than one machine, using a single MS/Xbox account: it's mentioned above that the settings transfer between the PCs.  What if I don't want this? Example: running on a higher-end desktop and a lower-end laptop (still meeting minimum requirements), I'd want to run the two with different settings, to manage performance.  Does this mean I'd need to redo all my settings every time I'd move from one machine to the other, or is it possible to maintain two different sets of settings, one on each machine?

I have some different Flight Sim hardware and Profiles on each PC.

No problems.

When you install MSFS on the 2nd PC the installation is for that PC.

If it does not meet minimum requirements MSFS would not be installed.

Do you have a 2nd PC / laptop ?
