Does anybody know what "Bird 250 <8000ft" refers to?

Btw been doing some flying in NZ today, it's great. Can keep the TLOD up really high (+900) as there's not much dense scenery around.

Speed limitation due to possibility of bird strikes?? Sure I have flown other aircraft in previous sims that have similar, although think that was above 10k ft (which makes more sense)..

It’s like that in places unfortunately. Most of NZ looks great, but sadly some of the mountain textures look bad.

Yep it refers to a maximum IAS and altitude after the event of a bird strike (assumes depressurization has occurred, or is likely to occur due to weakened windscreen glass).

May be a speed restriction in the event window heat is U/S. Window is "stronger" with heat. I flew the HS748 about 25 years ago and seem to remember something along these lines.

Do you own any of the addon scenery and if so what would you recommend as the go to one, well the 2 best ones to start.

Going to use the 414 or TBM in the region until we get the Duke

Going to finally load up the region in MSFS

"NZA Mount Cook Region" addon is absolutely lovely;  gives you two full airports and about 7 grass strips. A great collection all in one product, to explore the beautiful, mountainous, south west region of NZ.

And all that for about £/EUR/$19.  (can't remember the exact price!).

It's available on Marketplace, Orbx, and direct from the NZA website.

Oh dear, good question. First of all… I’ve got less than 10nm to TOD. Gotta go!

EDIT: Get NZA’s Milford Sound and take her down to the 787m runway. Spectacular approach and a fun challenge!

All of NZA’s airports are of exceptional quality. Been flying in NZ all day. Default mesh with the WU is great, but the ground textures on mountains are fairly bad in some places, excellent in others.

I’ve got most of the NZA airports + NZAA and NZWN (can’t recall which developer). And iniBuilds NZQN, fun approaches!

Anything by NZA Sim. You may be able to squeeze a TBM or 414 into NZMF. Like others said, NZMC is very good.

For getting anything from heli or bug smasher to an airliner (like the 146) safely down, iniBuilds' NZQN is worthy of your research. The RNP approach into either rwy 05 or rwy 23 is fantastic.

Further afield, NZA Sim's NZCH, or Flightbeam's NZWN or NZAA. Although the surroundings at these three airports aren't nearly as glamorous as the southern part of NZ's South Island.

why the ILS doesn't catch the glide slope?

Are you talking about in this specific aircraft (the 146) or ILS approaches you're attempting in general?
