Great first flight last night.  The new (old?) FMS took a bit of remembering from the Majestic Q400 days but I got it all programmed and good to go.  It’s a really nice piece of equipment.

Two things:

- is there any way to default to the boarding music being off?  I shut it off using the flight attendant panel, but didn’t see anything in the options to default it to off.

- I couldn’t load my Simbrief plan (didn’t even see where I could get to the list of available plans), but I suspect that was an issue on my end, as my folders for flight plans etc  are all in a different location than where they are expected to be so I’m going to play around with that further.  A quirk of my install I’ve never quite figured out.

Same. Very detailed UNS-1 manual. A bit unfamiliar at first, but I was able to plot in a flight plan relatively quickly. The flight from EGNM to EGLL would have been perfect, had it not been for the unlucky coincidence with the first botched AIRAC revision. I was planning to take her to Amsterdam as well, in the pretty KLM livery, but decided to wait until a new revision came out.

I didn't even think of that. Programming it manually went quickly, even with airways. IIRC. 

Only thing left is to explore the updated cabin and brew some coffee:) 

Oi. I think I might upload plans for a while before diving into that. Otherwise, what a cool update. Though I prefer all manual input anyway.

I don’t mind doing it manually on shorter flights. Might not do it when I take her on the first transatlantic flight though. Gonna need a lot of coffee for that. Wonder if there’s enough potable water, hmm 🤔

One way to find out. Find a big drum and station it next to you.  My toddler has a small portable potty. Just sayin.

Quick and very interesting flight in it this morning, ENVA to ESSA. Landing on the RNAV to runway 08, weather down to absolute minimums.

First time I have tried that in an aircraft without vertical guidance on the instruments...

I did end up programmming my flight in manually, short KBOI-KSLC flight so no problems there.

I read on the official forums that the steam path for flight plans is different which should explain my issue.

Can I borrow your toddler for the weekend? Mine has turned 18.

EDIT: Relevant to the thread, the sync option for V/S and IAS mode works great! Also the “autothrottle” (forget the name) during takeoff and climb (MCT), otherwise sync.

Read the very comprehensive manual for the FMS.  As Jamstro said, there is Simbrief support and it’s all explained in the manual.  Here’s a short video to help.

Thanks for the info, I was doubling a anti anxiety dose.

Would be possible to add a tab in the EFB, the Navigraph map charts? exactly as it is in the one inside MSFS, only like to watch it there as it is in the EFB?, without adding nothing more, only fitting it there, and not to have it in other place unrealistically floating?, and more now that we can write in them.

 

And that would add the best nowadays possible route flight plan where to show it, and showing where you are and what the plane is doing, as many of us requested.

Basically the same as the PMDG had prior to the EFB (sorry UFT). Guess the people that had an issue with that will have the same issue with this one.

To be fair direct integration is better.. although actually quite quick to input manually..

The UNS is a pretty basic FMS and it definitely doesn’t have ACARS or anything, so you’re inputting all your routes in manually anyways (luckily all my routes IRL are basically direct!) 

It's small enough to legally land at EGLC. (This is why I purchased it when three competing airliners were also being released about the same time. Because it could land at this airport).
