Could you really say you flew this bird a lot if this never happened to you? lol

Or any of the other gazillion things that I forget on a regular basis 😂

---

After yesterday's embarrassing attempts at the tricky 872m runway at ENRA, I felt like trying again. This time it went a lot better. Some key points that I believe helped:

  • being familiar with the area - the final visual segment is difficult
  • speed management on final approach
  • judicious usage of spoilers to maintain approach speed
  • proper elevator trim setting before touchdown
  • reducing the height above ground (AGL) when crossing the threshold
  • not overdoing the landing flare

Thank you for reporting this and for the detailed analysis. We have noted this on our internal bugs tracker and will get this investigated ahead of the next update to the 146.

I noticed some jittery performance today too.   Another issue I had in my EGHI > EGNT flight today was that, on doing a couple of DTOs, the new waypoint was not updated in the NAV page.   So, hit the DTO button, select the new waypoint that I want to go direct to, it is accepted, becomes magenta on the FPL page, but in the NAV page, the previous next waypoint is still shown.

Sorry, it was late when I posted this. It's the right ALT key.

That didn't work for me. I was in VR could that be the reason it didn't work ?

I agree just how nice the JF aircraft, 146 & F28 are to fly. First JF aircraft I have bought in years and am very pleased with them. Also pleased with the support from JF when I have questions.

I wonder if JF know that they have an issue with autopilot. If so are they planning to fix it?

I have seen them comment on it here, but when I last checked it wasn't on their forums.

Not seen the issue myself!..

The 2 flights I managed so far (away from machine at the moment) were both entered manually into the classic FMC.

OK so that it could be culprit although I don't see how it could be connected with inability to hold altitude. Also have tried flight for at least 2 hours on autopilot?

I increased the difficulty a few notches from my recent short field landing attempts, doing 5 approaches in very poor weather into short runways in Northern Norway. Not realistic, but I wanted to test what the aircraft is capable of - turns out it's extremely versatile!

Approaches:

  • ENMS Mosjøen RNP 33 runway length 1020m
  • ENNM Namsos RNP 25 runway length 937m
  • ENBN Brønnøysund RNP 21 runway length 1438m
  • ENRM Rørvik RNP 22 runway length 952m
  • ENVA Trondheim ILS 27 runway length 2996m

Real weather:

  • IMC
  • Low ceiling and visibility
  • Crosswind
  • Rain, wet runways
  • Icing conditions
