Online polls show most flightsimmers prefer airliners and high flight levels. So I'm sort on the fringe.

Everything looks better with PG on to my eyes. But then I mainly fly GA down low and poor quality scenery is way more obvious to me than to someone way up there in the clouds.

In real life I also love flying in small GA planes (I'm not a pilot). Sense of wonder, joy of flight, so much to see.

I really should do more GA flying, been hooked on airliners lately. Tomorrow I’ve decided to check out southwest Germany, low and slow. Not too slow though. Perhaps Vertigo with full flaps when sightseeing, then 400kts between the cities 😁

I disagree. I fly airliners and the only time I really think it looks good is on departure and approach (far below 10000 feet). Anything higher and it looks melted anywhere I look. So it's 90% of the time "ugh" and 10% of the time "wow". The more I think about it - that's a bad deal, I should really turn it off for good (except for when landing at iniBuilds KJFK...).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Yes, things are different way up there in the clouds.

Another thing I don't need. Lol

Im starting to think that my sim is under-nourished.

I am both high and low. I am mostly flying the Hjet (Hondajet) at FL330 to FL430, and 70/30 into regional jetports over international hubs located in major cities.  So I have PG on 24/7 and do not look back.  😊

I recently turned it off and notice that it performs better and looks better for my current set up. My hardware needs an upgrade but so far I am relying on AutoFPS and FG mod to help.

Bing maps do their job but the morphed building (due to my hardware limitations and autofps mod) really limit TLOD. Even with it on (FG) and the others off....the buildings can look pretty bad.

My favorite cities I have scenery for so its not all bad. The autogen buidling (is that still a word we use) look good enough. Almost comparable from a distance.

Aren’t the autogen buildings AI-rendered by Blackshark? They do look quite convincing in familiar places.

Have no clue. But they at least look pretty decent.

I remember using SFDGlobal from MisterX for XP and loved the differences in autogen buildings, FYI.

But MSFS takes the cake.

Yes, and the quality and placement of these is orders of magnitude better than that seen in P3D or FSX. It really does look rather lovely when draped over those photorealistic landscapes, so PG is definitely not an essential item for me.

Are those bridges still rendered like solid blocks with PG enabled?? That alone would stop me from using it.

From what I've seen in a few cities the bridges are looking good.

Sorry, double post since Avsim wasn't responding after my first click. 😌

That’s not how that works. You’re not going to be ‘hacked’

If you ever opened a spam attachment, the online flight time will give them time to download malware, configure for encryption etc.

My wish is: Would you want to save the last flight phototextures for offline use?

I've tried with the rolling cache but that seems broken.
