Download interval at min = 5 minutes

Flow?? What is that?

I check the periodic theme reload? Haven't pinpointed that setting.

Depiction smoothing is set quite low as well. I will get this up but thought to left it standart at first.

Here's my settings:

Download interval:15(minimum)

Periodic theme interval: 7(default, this settings is under Simulator depiction options)

Depiction smoothing rate:  10(default 50)

What version are you using?

Which ‘mode’ produces the best visuals with live weather?  ….passive , or ‘preset’.  I just got the product & getting started on trying both.  Trying to understand the difference in how visuals are rendered.

Passive is msfs live weather with activesky effects(turbilence, etc)

Active Sky Preset Control is full control by Active Sky. I find this better than msfs live weather.

You need to try each one and see for yourself.

Depends on what you mean by "visuals". Passive mode (with MSFS live weather) looks more dramatic, clouds look better (not more realistic, just "better") in my opinion. ASFS Live weather means you'll have more types of clouds and variety, which can make for a more realistic visual experience. But the clouds tend to look a bit P3D-ish, which is okay, because clouds are often just boring in real life too.

After using ASFS Live weather (if I do live, I also do much historical flights) for a couple of weeks I've gone back to passive mode with MSFS live weather. It lacks variety and thunderstorms, but I just find much more pleasure looking at the clouds, and I've really been missing cloud fronts with ASFS weather. I wouldn't have thought that I'd feel like this, but I do. Going back to MSFS live weather was a refreshing experience.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

To Me , using Passive mode, might as well just not bother with AS, and just use MSFS live weather. I got tired of nothing but CU clouds, low level, no T storms and lightning, so all I use now is AS Presets. I haven't used historical weather yet, and very rarely used in with AS 16 in P3D either.

Too many? Only 2 versions were released, 8888 was 3 days after the official and 8906 was released 18 days after.

Well, after 21 days without a new official version also means that there's nothing more stable than v8888 yet. Too much time in my opinion.

Cheers, Ed

So you went from too many versions to too much time, that's some deflection right there lol....

Of all those things in the changelog, this is the one that excites me the most:

Quote

New cloud turbulence with MSFS ambient in-cloud detection and cloud turbulence for all cloud types and coverages in both Preset and Passive modes

A few days ago I flew right through a towering Cu (could have been Cb) and nothing changed. No turbulence, no windshear, no up-/downdrafts.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to test 8906 much. Yet.

Anyone knows if there is a "flow"app for ActiveSky? Metar and properly the companion app for a second monitor could be useful as instant download as well.
