MSFS has best default GA avionics. Thank you Working Title!

Agree with most of that.  Much of that is now integrated into MSFS 2020 itself as a result of AAUI 1 & 2.  So I believe the label of "add-on" can go away.

Unfortunately you still need to install the addon from the marketplace, at least for the GNS530/430, otherwise a number of planes (like the BN-2 or the default Classic 172) still use the terrible, original, Asobo versions.

This aircraft uses the new GNS430W/530W by default.

Any time people try to call MSFS the arcade sim, I like reminding them of this fact.

Hmmm. Tested it a couple of weeks ago. Without the addon installed from the marketplace I was getting the Asobo one. However, looking at panel.cfg it is pointing to the WT one, so not sure what was going on there.

Sometimes liveries include their own panel.cfgs with old configs, so perhaps it was that.

Ah, that would explain it.

MSFS 2020 also has excellent support documentation for each of the default and special aircraft added by ASOBO/Inibuilds, and unique checklist system that is a true delight to use specially when trying to learn a new aircraft!!!

Getting Working title on board was one of the best (if not the best) moves in fs2020 by Jorg and co,

It’s not just GA though their improvements have been felt, their work on the 78 is phenomenal and far wider reaching than many realise, especially in their LNAV, I’ve been hugely impressed by their attention to detail and effort. Plus they’re a fantastic group of people with great engagement on their discord and forums.

If WT are guilty of anything it’s underselling their work. It’s easy sometimes to read the claims from other devs about their work and get seduced by their self promotion but WT are quietly getting on with it, with little self fanfare and announcements or announcements about announcements or other self congratulatory nonsense.

Is there any way to tell IN SIM which 530 I'm using? The one that I've seen is the Dukes and Lear is seriously bugged in my aircraft. In content manager it's installed that's all I see.

I've stopped using it as distances in route /flight plan are just plain wrong so vnav especially is a major issue leaving me many times at final fix alt 50 miles from airport and crazy 5000ft descents predicted.

The reality xp was my goto in fsx and I studied and practiced offline for weeks before using it so a few years back I'd say I pretty much mastered it.

For those type of people, I sometimes reply to them that their flight simulator of choice has "arcady default GA avionics" compared to MSFS 🤣

Just as well. Because it breaks a few addon planes autopilot such as the PAC Stol (I think it's called) from OrbX because the word not allowed developers can't be bothered to update their plane despite many emails from me!

With the release of the G3X by Working Title, I think it's time to crown MSFS as having the best default GA avionics for a flight simulator used at home.

Hear, hear!

I remember when much of the flight sim community was mocking MSFS for the poor avionics when it was released in 2020. I think now we have come a full circle,

I think that was a bunch of ingrates who expected default systems fidelity to match visual fidelity. Or simply didn't understand how difficult it is to properly program modern avionics.

I remember thinking that I didn't care one whit about the avionics in ANY of the default planes when that stunningly beautiful world-wide experience was right outside the window.

And still I think when similar ingrates constantly whine about "vnav" that they should just grab the stick between their legs and have fun with it like real pilots do 🤣

Working Title has been a godsend. MS and Asobo should open the doors to more elements based on that success, and the acclaim that followed.

Would that other sim developers gain the foresight to do the same.

Infinite kudos to whoever came up with the idea, AND whoever had the balls to approve it. Brilliant!

Some folks just aren't willing to take off the blinders.

BUT given the blistering pace of improvements being made to MSFS, it's clear many of them will (at the very least) add MSFS to their hard drive at some not too distant point in the future. 🙂

The folks at WT and Jorg Neumann respectively.

What a great decision Jorg made to hire them!
