Some may claim "MSFS 2020 is the most stable sim I've used in about 3 decades," while others eagerly critique MSFS 2020, or Some just can't wait for any opportunity to bash MSFS 2020, which is quite amusing. You just can't accept the idea that maybe your setup is buggy.

In your opinion, all of us have faulty setups (3 pages of the same issue), but this has nothing to do with MS/ASOBO. Wow! 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

It is extremely stable to be fair, unless MS have server issues. Then everyone is up the creek...... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
June 14, 20241 yr Ive experienced the checking for updates issue myself quite a number of times this week. Cannot start the sim tonight (UK) without disconnecting the network when stuck on checking. Ive tried reseting the store, syncing time, reseting the network, force closing the sim then restarting, rebooting the pc a few times too. If I leave the checking window it carries on eventually after at least 10 minutes. The check, when working, normally takes a second or two Chris Ibbotson AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D / MSI AMD MPG x670E Carbon Motherboard / Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC 32GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card / Corsair DOMINATOR Titanium RGB Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 / NZXT C1200 Gold ATX 3.1 - Fully Modular Low-Noise PC Gaming Power Supply - 1200 Watts - 80 PLUS Gold / 48” UltraGear™ UHD 4K OLED Gaming Monitor / 40" Philips 4K LED Monitor / Honeycomb Alpha Yoke / Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant / WinWing Orion Rudder Pedals c/w dampener / WinWing Ursa Minor Airline Joystick / WinWing Airbus MCDU

However, it doesn't solve the problem for those affected. The issue here is people like you and others, (rightfully so without problems) keep on dismissing, arguing, engage in unproductive discussions without any reason just for the reason to argue WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY FIX. So guys like you either provide a fix or just show some maturity and stop arguing. There are REPEATING PROBLEMS that require attention. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

The "Checking for updates" hang... synchronising the date and time from the Windows 11 Settings -> Time & Language -> Date & Time -> Additional Settings -> Sync Now fixed it. 2, An update to the XBOX App which sat at 0% progress for a good 5 mins or so before finally jumping to 100% complete. I should mention that the update manifested itself by the sim not responding when I tried to start it. Been a frustrating couple of days. This worked for me !!!! June 14, 20241 yr I think it is a .Net thing so probably a good idea to do a sync time on a regular basis and especially when there are obvious server issues going on. sp
June 14, 20241 yr I have had the same problem for many hours and the only solution for me, after it remains on "CHECKING FOR UPDATE", is to disconnect and then reconnect the WIFI connection. The strange thing is that when I reconnect, the INSTALLATION MANAGER page appears, and it's as if it wanted to reinstall everything but the text that appears says: 0/1.22TB and how do I do "CONTINUE" instead of installing the normal loading starts, only that the line at the bottom it advances to the end and at this point I have to disconnect and reconnect again and the page with WORLD MAP appears while MARKETPLACE tells me that it is UNAVAILABLE. I took two flights and had no problems.
