July 30, 20241 yr How is this airplane now after a few updates? Loved the PMDG version back in the day.

It's working very well now, still some minor issues but i read on discord the ongoeing of working out fixes for this issues are on it's way so i think another update is coming any time soon to the community.. cheers 😉 Edited July 30, 20241 yr by pmplayer 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
July 31, 20241 yr It’s not as polished as the PMDG or Fenix offerings but it’s pretty close. The automatics take a bit of getting used to but once you get your head around the Boeing/Airbus mix of modes then it’s not too difficult to fly. However the nose wheel steering is still messed up for me. It simply won’t do a 90 degree turn at any speed and if you slow down too much it just stops. Pity because the 777 taxis really well….
August 4, 20241 yr Hello, after soving installation trouble by installing the plane into other than community location and using AddOnLinker I have done some flights with the AC and must say, I'm impressed by accuracy and quality of the product, for the normal procedures it is working flawless, also the mentioned NLG steering is smooth and exactly, would say a worthy successor of Bill Grabowski / PMDG's diva. Except the long filename problem and the fluctuating N1 during CRZ and the annoying discord I'm very happy with it. Btw never experienced such a well organized and structured Lvar / Event / Event Id system as from TFDI before, so it was possible for me to assign within shortest time the AP/EIS and other functions to my hardware and it is working including the AP indications... and flying here with Panel Popoutmanager with moderate frames (on my outdated I7-7700 / 1080Ti system). Happy with it. Best regards and thank you TFDI. Edited August 4, 20241 yr by cseu typo Ralf Andreas

I'd love to hear from someone who has both the pmdg and the new one for an accurate comparison. I installed fsx again and have the Md11 working the best it ever has right now. Everything is sublime except of course the low res textures on some panels and the ap giving up on approaches due to historic runways being out of sync with latest nav data. It's a dream to hand fly approaches with it just feels HEAVY and stable. I'm worried if I get the tfdi I'll obviously be hugely impressed with the textures but will have a plane that doesn't FEEL right somehow. Does it match up with the xcom and qrh that the pmdg obviously does as they supplied the plane with them? Russell Gough SE London

Does it match up with the xcom and qrh that the pmdg obviously does as they supplied the plane with them? Have never flown an MD-11 IRL. That said I’ve never flown a 777 or a 737 but I do have a few hours in a T-38. All that said, just as the PMDG planes “feel right” for me the TDFi is similar in flight and function and I can’t imagine you being disappointed if you like the old PMDG rendition…the TDFi is miles ahead IMO. -B

Forgetting gfx obviously, how are the systems better? I need charts and venn diagrams lol! If the systems are equal to the PMDG and it's just the gfx/textures that are way better that's a buy for me. Well, it’s been a decade at least since I flew the PMDG MD-11 TBH and my memory of it is hazy at best so don’t take my word for it. The external textures on the TDFi are nothing to write home about btw, but the systems work as McDonald Douglas intended them to and Autoflight is fully modeled including VNAV with auto descent just like Boeings. I’ve not had any problems with approaches and in the end that’s what’s really important…can’t fly if you can’t land LoL. Please don’t make a purchase based up my ramblings, but if you did..I do think you will be happy! -B

It is a blast to fly, at least for me, outstanding work are done with this TFDi MD-11. Already a lot of flighthours with this one and i just like it ! And if you see a better one at the moment for MSFS go and grab it..😅 cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
