PMDG have withdrawn P3D products from sale.

After a visit from a friend last week who was interested in buying the PMDG737 for P3Dv5 we visited the PMDG site looking for that aircraft.

No P3D products were visible so I asked the question on their forum. One suggested it has been temporarily removed so those looking to buy the MSFS 777 wouldn’t buy the wrong version.

Replies from Mathijs Kok haven’t been helpful and he’s now locked the topic without answering my questions. I’ve written to Robert Randazzo for help.

If I were recommending FS add-ons to a friend, I wouldn't recommend anything for P3D PMDG products anyway because all of those products are end-of-life and will never see updates. I would just steer them toward MSFS at this point. If your friend really wants a 737 in P3D, why not recommend him the iFly MAX?

That is the only alternative available to him. At least they’re more enlightened. Mathijs is quite aggressive in his replies. It does him no credit to act that way.

Not sure what the point of selectively quoting me with a single emoji is. I wouldn’t recommend PMDG’s P3D products at this time even if they were on sale.

Why? They produced the best 737 for P3D. I haven’t come across any serious failings and I’ve flown it for years.

I understand that it is a temporary change so that people wanting the MSFS 777 don't end up accidentally buying the P3D version. I believe this was confirmed to a friend when they released the 777. There would be no reason that I can think of to stop selling P3D aircraft in the long run.

I purchased the iFly 737 max a couple of weeks ago and have been very impressed. It's certainly not inferior to the PMDG NGXu 737 in terms of textures and systems depth. It's also considerably cheaper.

I’ve just looked at their website and there’s no mention of P3D. It hasn’t been updated in four years. Is it a generic installer?

That’s not what Mathijs Kok said. Let’s see what RR has to say.

Lord forgive me but I’ve come to greatly dislike those people with their arrogance and snobbery toward customers. Then there’s the sanctimonious head man who’s condescending  attitude filters all the way down to his fans. I don’t even use the thousand plus dollars of products much anymore simply because I don’t like to be reminded of those people. GA and bush flying is more fun anyway. Reminds me, look what Milviz did for us when they quit supporting P3D. They give their products away free and the freeware is still available on their server and I don’t know if they’re as profitable as PMDG. Enough on this subject from me.

I must say I was quite surprised at the responses from the PMDG staff. Instead of just answering your legitimate questions they were very rude... I do hope however that they decide to release the P3D lineup again as I really want the 737-600/700 (I guess the iFly one is a valid option as well however but lets see).

@Blasb, it is disappointing but it’s down to one person whose reputation precedes him. When he was at Aerosoft he was much the same.

Still waiting for a reply from RR.

Unfortunately, it shows a certain arrogance towards their customers, which indeed reminds me to some discussions on the Aerosoft forum.

I recently purchased iFly‘s 737 MAX and won’t look back at anything from PMDG. iFly‘s product is outstanding and their support is in a different league.

My main flyer is not going to be undated by Boeing. I will stick with what I have and P3D. 747 747-8  737 737max 777.
