and it's the only decent civillian --> FLIGHT <-- simulator ...

XP12 is getting so nice graphics wise, and they ( LR ) talk about the new scenery in a rather convincing way, just as about code optimization, so I have good reasons to move... before the next in the cycle which can be either AEFS4 or MSFS or P3Dv6....

Last night took the Toliss 32N, then the VSL DC-3 and ended up with a couple flights in the Bell 212 and the VSL R-66... Wow, feels so so good, as usual... It's my preferred --> FLIGHT <-- simulator 😍

And also because we needed a thread to contrast with that other 🤣

Just nice to see those FPS gradually getting higher and higher. There will be a fix for those altitude jumps next update or 2.

Yes kids it is finally time to jump on the XP12 love train.

I can understand if you had doubts before, many of us did for good reasons:

5 "short" years later we are finally have a decent flight sim

really a good time to fork out for those hardware upgades to, grab yourselves an rtx4080, high end amd cpu, PSVR, 64GB of ram mobo case and install linux on it and get learning. Progress has been neck breaking - and is set to remain at the same pace or faster for the next 5 years at least.

Plenty to look forward to, even more to enjoy now.

Hi

Agree with your commments.XP12 is amazing.

Do you think 64GB RAM is needed? -I have 32 GB and have held off upgrading because I didn't think all of it would be used by XP12.

Thanks

its not a minimum requirement by any means.

But it gives you far more flexibility to use the machine without thinking about how much you are using. Linux is also pretty smart at keeping stuff in ram that may be needed later, the less it needs to swap stuff around the smoother everything runs generally, the more you can cache in ram for later the faster everything runs the next time you need it.

Yes nice water effects; unfortunately this was broken after 12.1 release; in that respect LR could have avoid the pain caused to a good numbers of xp enthusiasts;   it is a stark reminder of Msfs vicious cycle of breaking and fixing what was already working before the update + continue yoyo of performance fluctuation between cycles.

its fixed in 12.1, you have to rebuild the ortho with o4xp1.4 and xp12 water selected in the config.

prior to 12.1 water was fully broken with ortho (gaps between the land and water that you could see into the void.

A lot of possible scenery fixes have been deprioritised because DSF is being replaced with all new shiney soon.
