ORBX London might be responsible

I use Orbx GB True Earth and Orbx EGLC in the other sim, not in MSFS, and it looks fine. No sanddworm activity in X Plane! I also use the basic, vanilla EGLC in MSFS, not even a freeware add-on. The problems seem to have started with last week's updates.

Not everyone installs every world update, so it can be someting you only do once or twice a year. I'm at a certain age where I sometimes forget how to do unimportant things I only do every 6-12 months

  • I keep crossing my thumbs for people finally remembering this for good. After all it's only been the 17th one... 😁

  • My house looks like my house now and not a random town house as it was previously, right down to the recycling bin in the front yard and trampoline in the back garden which we got rid of 3 years ago b

I did approximately the same fly over London to compare with and without orbx :

Yep, me to.  Only a small one for the UK but I have no idea what it does or contains.  Perhaps someone from MS or ASOBO might be able to enlighten us.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

I just found this Thames water fix.  I am glad we have FS.to and the countless content creators / bug-fixers we have on there that spare us their time for nothing.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

This makes a big difference to the sandbanks and bridges in the Thames and the author has done a couple of updates for it.  There are still a few bits and pieces that could be fixed, so I hope he can find the time for another update ir two but if you fly low and slow along the Thames you will see a big improvement with this addon.

I accidentally ran with it not installled yesterday and it looks awful without it.

  • 1 month later...

Just had an update for ORBX GB South (I don't have the one for up North), quite a few WU17 compatibility fixes. I can confirm that amongst other things, there are now only two Tamar Bridges and not four 🙂
