I quite like Cardiff. Its a dump in real life anyway.. Ground textures are much better. But i still blanch at the lack of field hedges.

Not everyone installs every world update, so it can be someting you only do once or twice a year. I'm at a certain age where I sometimes forget how to do unimportant things I only do every 6-12 months

  • I keep crossing my thumbs for people finally remembering this for good. After all it's only been the 17th one... 😁

  • My house looks like my house now and not a random town house as it was previously, right down to the recycling bin in the front yard and trampoline in the back garden which we got rid of 3 years ago b

I posted a few days ago and perhaps didn't make clear my observation/problem hence the people kind enough to reply didn't answer the question.

I spent a considerable amount of time clearing my local area of the amazonian scale forests that do not exist in real life by creating exclusions.  Since the last update these exclusions appear to be no longer having any effect and the forests have returned even more densely.  Has something changed in the SDK and/or am I going to go through the tree clearance programme again?

On a related note, the rivers in my area are, in the main, wide enough to spit across but are represented in the Sim as substantial waterway; how do I correct this?

Thanks

But what is?

He tested compatibility with Orbx scenery packs.

TL DR no trouble in Britain. Might be in Ireland.

I had the same reaction when I tested the mainland part of UK, no problem with London landmarks; GB N,C,S; nor with ORBX London City Airport.

So so dry in Leicestershire, i need to get used to it, but not sure i will be able to. Why would bing maps decide to go and do this during a rare heatwave in the UK? I mean this is bigger than MSFS its the rival to google maps.

Anyway its like flying in Mexico. Or you'd think Leicestershire's main export is wheat.

Flick the quality to HD if video is stuck in 360.

This is weird, I've loaded the update in correctly but I'm at a completely generic EGLC. Anyone else have this?

EGLC is all over the place. It looks as if the DLR has been attacked by a sandworm. (I only have the generic ECLC.)

I have the Orbx EGLC turned on. It is way better than when I turn it off.

I think the files you made might possibly have gotten altered by the WU.

It happened to me when I manually altered a file right after msfs2020 first came out. To shorten the trees. First msfs update by Asobo and my file was gone and the original file had replaced it.

After that, I always backed any homemade hack file and then brought it back into game after an Asobo update.

I flew over southmead hospital Bristol and found it was flattened.  I guessed that the culprit may have been the helicopter landing pad by overripepuma, which it was.  I see it is no longer listed at flightsim.to unless it's under another name.

BTW, overripepuma's other scenerys are really good and well worth the free download.

Southmead hospital looks excellent in WU17.

Regarding EGLC, I am using a freeware version and am having no issues.

The issues I had around Glasgow Airport were down to the Pyreegue EGPF. I'll let the dev know.

Most of the SE UK is like that, quite awful!  I use the Map Enhancement Tool and choose Google Maps - they are really good in most places, but have weird bright colours in larger towns/cities.  These bright colours are quite jarring, but at least the UK doesn't look like the desert.

I found with gb landmarks n c and s, anywhere there’s photogrammetry the landmarks were significantly worse than the photogrammetry so I removed them. Hopefully an update will improve this as most of these landmarks are fairly basic models.

One thing I was thinking watching this, is it would be great if their AI algos could figure out glass office buildings to make them reflect the sun etc.  Might be too much to ask of the technology at this point, since it's PG and not autogen.

It doesn't come with a handcrafted EGLC
