WU18 Release today

Featured Replies

Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Scheduled for today and these things normally get released at 1600Z unless MS or Asobo pull it at the last minute.

WU17 was actually released early, so I do wonder if this one might be released a little earlier than 1600Z - it would certainly ease the pressure on the servers if it was.

This one looks very exciting to me and it looks as if it is going to be as good as WU17.

As promised here are my comparison videos, all in 4K resolution:   1.) Gaya Munich vs Simwings Munich:   2.) Asobo Gaya Bern vs Orbx Bern   3a RD

  • Downloading. Can't see the release notes though. Seems they linked WU17 in the announcement https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/release-world-update-xviii-germany-austria-and-switzerland-now-availabl

Can’t wait! WU17 could very well be the best so far. Yesterday I flew over the Austrian and Italian alps, and there’s a lot of sharp transitions in the ground textures. Hopefully WU18 will be significantly better.

Hi,

I've installed the update.

And I've flown above Berlin, and it's half melted, similar to the first version of London!

By the way... with things floating!

Anyone with the same issue, or it is just me?

Regards

In general, for photogrammetry buildings/objects to render fully, TLOD must be high enough and your connection to the MSFS servers must be good enough. I haven't tested Berlin yet.

Yes, tahnk you, but I think "this Berlin" is worse that the other we had.

I'm going to change the TLOD settings and check it again.

My Internet connection is 1 GB.

Well...

I'm concerned about the Munich Airport, I already own the Aerosoft version will they overlay since the airport was not a separate install?

Bern-Belp and  Salzburg Airport look great but no aircraft are parked there.

Be sure you have download all updates from content manager and cleared you rolling cache (if you use it) and manual cache (if you use it).

I’ve seen people having this kind of issue because of the rolling cache.

Hi, again!

It better now.

I have raised TLOD and OLOD and also other parameters to ULTRA (but FPS down, I'm afraid). But things have improved significantly.

Thank you, Cpt_Piett and ca_metal!

The new EDDM was very much a seperate install. Just type in EDDM in your Content Manager and deinstall the Microsoft one.

Glad it is separate, Bern-Belp and Salzburg Airport self installed with scenery.

Just noted the same issue with LOWS Salzburg.  Haven't tried Bern Belp yet.
