September 5, 20241 yr What the heck SWS. Their Kodiak series and Van's are pretty darn good. Some hiccups here or there. I am sure, given again more time, this SWS will be great. Give it time. For the meantime, I will just bother with something else. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
September 6, 20241 yr Simworks is saying that you need to remove any previous version in order to install the latest update. I bought it directly from the MSFS Marketplace. I removed the previous version and installed it again, but it still says version 1.2.7, and there is not any update available. Any thoughts about this how we get the latest update for those who bought it in MSFS Marketplace? Many thanks!
September 6, 20241 yr They have stated on discord that there was some issues with 1.3.8 that they are investigating and it seems 1.3.7 is the latest version available at their site too. Handling seems better with 1.3.7, but there are problems with too high ITT that is quite annoying. I hope they get out an update soon because I have been enjoying the PC-12 a lot lately even with its issues! -Henrik Ryzen 7 7800X3D - RTX 5090 - 64gb DDR5 - Moza AB9 with MH16 Flightstick, MTQ Throttle, Thrustmaster Pendular rudder.
September 6, 20241 yr Commercial Member Ugh, I have been wanting to like this plane. I love the PC-12 IRL and have a lot of experience with it; a seamless and well-performing PC-12 in MSFS would have easily been in my top 10 or 5 desired aircraft. It just isn't quite there yet for me. I'm still struggling with the jerky autopilot in altitude modes with the TDS GTN - though I guess that's somehow a GTN limitation (above my head). The developer distributes the update to vendors and then you're at the mercy of said vendor on when they push the update to their platform. This is the main reason I usually purchase directly from the developer or use ORBX/Contrail. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
September 6, 20241 yr I really like the PC-12 and Installed 1.2.8 when it was just released but the 5 bladed version has no electrical power. Been flying the 4 blade version but it seems down on power and takes off like a WW2 bomber but otherwise the flight model seems to be improved. With the TDS GTN the autopilot seems fine in VOR and GPS modes but in HDG mode the wings are constantly rocking, seems to overcorrect aileron inputs all the time. Johan Pienaar
September 6, 20241 yr From diescord: We are starting this Friday update with the PC-12 and update 1.3.8. We have identified the cause of the problems causing the 5-bladed planes to be inoperative and will deploy a fix. The fix will address the aforementioned issue, missing walk-round click spots and fast ITT rise with altitude. To be sure we don't have another surprise like this, we will test it over the weekend and deploy it on Monday. Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). September 29, 20241 yr So, is this safe to download now. So many comments, I am afraid to even download the update. Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.
September 29, 20241 yr Hi Ron, I have the SWS PC-12 Legacy v1.3.9 downloaded from Orbx. The installation is fine if you want to use the default GNS530 avionics. Otherwise, you rely on a partially documented custom installation. And, as you already know, the SWS PC-12 is widely acknowledged as one of the very best addon aircraft for MFS2020 – until you take it into the air. (Those who do the latter continue to have very different views.) Best of luck, Mike --Mike MacKuen
September 30, 20241 yr I have an issue with honeycomb bravo which kind of bad. If I'm cruising at certain altitude say 15000ft and try step down to preselected altitude say 5000ft, even though I don't arm ALT, autopilot starts immediate descend despite ALT hold lit. I'm not sure how did it slip through testing . Whole bunch of patches and such a sad resut 😞 Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). September 30, 20241 yr It finally cleared the MS Marketplace about a week ago and I took it for a spin. I avoided the 5 blade prop due to the reported electrical issue, but in retrospect I should've at least tried it. The addon flies and handles better now, but still feels weird overall. The 4-blade takeoff performance is still relatively glacial. I will have to try the 5-blade as that's the one I've ridden in about half a dozen times. IRL it leaps off the runway in literally seconds, and that's the experience I'm looking for. If that doesn't come thru, then I'll ignore it until I hear about another major update. So far the FSR500 has been a far and away again more enjoyable experience. Edited September 30, 20241 yr by UrgentSiesta
October 5, 20241 yr On 9/3/2024 at 3:43 PM, vrdubin6 said: Visual model, systems and sounds are fantastic but having some random wacky ground handling and/or insane side slip got old. I just felt like there was no consistency with the way it would behave. I totally agree. After the latest update my hope that the ground handling would be better was soon blown in the wind. It's impossible making slow and narrow turns. The front wheel flutters like being completely unguided even if pedals and yoke are both at full deflection. I've even flattened the initial brake forces dramatically, but the aircraft stops even with the slightest brake axis movement. While taking off and landing it now feels much better compared to former times, but ground handling is a real show stopper. Regards,Axel
