September 17, 20241 yr Commercial Member The speed and efficiency of the guys at Laminar is mind boggling. Easily the most talented bunch of developers in the commercial flight sim market. Austin sure knows how to pick them.

One good thing is that it gets us one or two steps closer to 12.20 barring no other issue. I am looking forward to that release with all the changes that are coming. Good times are still ahead!!!!!!!!!
September 17, 20241 yr Glad to see things like this on the pipeline. I'm sticking to Release versions, tho - too many other flight sims are always in involuntary Beta 🤣
September 17, 20241 yr If you haven't updated to this RC build yet, you might want to hold off for a minute. A number of users over on the .org and on the XP Discord are reporting CTD issues with this build. A few people are helping out LR by running some flights with some test builds (since LR can't reliably reproduce the crash in-house).
September 17, 20241 yr This is reported to have some crashes. Laminar are aware and looking for any reports
September 17, 20241 yr Well I am getting a CTD outcome with this with the Rotate MD80 - it is the data input and processing side (positional initialisation data entry) on the FMS. 3 times since this release. Does seem to be some thread processing clash! Also generated a hung system again trying to do some alternative CPU activity via other running windows programs.

September 18, 20241 yr The CTD phenomena is widely reported - wide spread of sim scenarios, model types and mode of flight. Few if any errors logged in the txt file - so unk. FMS use or autoflight running via FMS seems common. FMS and GPS (GTN720) etc. Rest is fine. Maybe their updated instructor station bolt in has done something. Doing other things so will wait out the patch/update.

CTD 😕 But one of the youtubers said he thought it really wasn't FF777's fault but rather some problem with core sim, but I wasn't aware it was being widely reported ... I didn't experience any (probably because xp12 is uninstalled for a few weeks already 🤣🤣🤣🤣) and as someone forecasted i've been having a great time on DCS world and Il2 instead 😁 Edited September 18, 20241 yr by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
September 18, 20241 yr Tried XP after many stable weeks in the other sim and, *bum*, CTD on the first flight with the Rotate MD-11. That’s why I cannot call XP my main sim, event though I really enjoy it.
