October 7, 20241 yr I spend most of my time in the Fenix mainly due to the sound, they have everything pretty much PERFECT. The details right down to the change in air temperature affecting the buzzsaw sound intensity are what did it for me. Now as of this week, I'm sure we've all seen the iFly 737 previews and GOODNESS GRACIOUS am I excited!!! I was just browsing through some Sim news and I came across this: https://msfsaddons.com/2024/10/06/echo19-audio-announces-custom-audio-pack-for-the-f-a-18-super-hornet-in-microsoft-flight-simulator/ I mean, I have never heard a fighter jet sound so real in FS, ever! I'm extremely impressed! I'm an audio guy, worked as an audio engineer in the past. I've also got a few soundpacks here in the Avsim library from back in the FSX days. But I never would have imagined seeing, well, hearing the quality of what we're being presented with today! Thank you developers 🙏🏻 All I can say is that I hope that other developers start upping their quality going forward now too and start making aircraft that sound truly dynamic (looking at you, big Boeing airliner maker 👀). October 7, 20241 yr It’s good to see. For me audio makes the whole experience come alive, even more so that graphics. I’ve been quite surprised how long it was taken for some of the great P3D audio devs to start making an appearance in MSFS (ie TSS and Immersive Audio). That Boris Vanian has worked/is working on the iFly 737 MAX, BBS 757, and Black Square Dukes is great to see. Previously, we had to buy these audio packs as replacements to the default sounds. I am surprised that Turbine Sound Studios hasn't moved away from P3D products. The PMDG aircraft, the default 747 and 787, and the Leonardo MD-80 all could do with alternative sound packs. But all I flew in those sims was PMDG aircraft and FSLabs aircraft so maybe someone else can correct me/chime in. He is doing amazing work tho!! I've become a huge fan.

Oh man, I completely forgot he was doing this project too. My favorite aircraft by far and it'll likely have one of the best soundpacks ever created for FS, a dream come true really! That sound on rotation in the video, when the AOA changes and the buzzsaw sound intensifies, incredible! 14 hours ago, F737MAX said: It's somewhat rare to get a dedicated high quality audio developer to work on the default soundset for an aircraft. Good point. I spent quite a bit of money on TSS soundpacks in the past. Nice to see the trend changing though, it's us consumers that are massively benefiting as we are getting truly complete aircraft packages. It would be great to see TSS collaborate with a team, that guy has a great setup for recording HD sounds. It's incorporating the files into the Wwise soundengine that's the complicated part. Gone are the days of opening up sound.cfg files or swapping out .wav files in the aircraft folder 😅 Jesse Casserly ✌🏼️ https://www.youtube.com/user/JesseCasserly757 💻 i7-10750H 2.6 GHz / 5.0 GHz, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, RTX 2080 Super Saitek X-56 HOTAS
October 8, 20241 yr It's not just about the aircraft sounds that are integral to an immersive experience, for example the sounds of stones flicking up off the wheels and hitting the undercarriage on bush trips, the birds & bees prior to a cold & dark start, the ambiance around a large airport (trucks reversing, nearby road noise etc), waves crashing on the shore line adjacent to an airport, the list goes on. There's a million ways to enhance the experience just by sound alone, so when I hear some of the above and other sounds it really goes a long way to great experience. Boris can correct me if I'm wrong but he started out doing the sounds for the FBW and his success took off from there. He's very talented and initially alot of the FBW sounds were just from youtube videos and some really clever sound mixing. Now he has some really nice equipment and opportunities to record the real thing, showcasing his talent even further.

His standard/quality has rapidly increased in a relatively short time. January 13, 20251 yr Does anyone know if Boris plans to make his Cessna 152/172 sound packs compatible with MSFS 2024?
