This is the core sim. Asobo don't have multiple version they have the core and features that plug into it.
This is the core with features taken out.
That's how development works, ESPECIALLY this close to release.

Clearly they do, because this version is missing features that even the press demo from September had.

  • Here’s my impressions from the alpha. It’s basically just things that struck me and not a balanced review. Overall, I’m very impressed. Unfortunately, I only had 1-2 hours to test it, so the following

From their forum:

Please note the TECHNICAL Alpha is an in-development build and not at all representative of the final product. The Technical Alpha build was created with the sole intent to gather telemetry and feedback on online services. The content available for the Technical Alpha is limited in scope. You may also encounter obvious crashes, bugs, and issues. Instructions on where to provide feedback will be shared with those selected to participate.

I'm afraid I think that statement is simply to cover MS and Asobos posterior, because they will be releasing on the 19th.

This is the core of what we will see.

Ok please stop now you're embarrassing yourself, if you can't understand what this is then simply go away and do something else, it really isn't worth stressing over

Sorry, in what way does that not fit with the concept of a core sim with features turned off ? They've just turned off more features.

Because it's missing core sim features.

Can we get back to topic please before the mods decide to block the thread!?

If you don't like the idea that MSFS 2024 will likely release in a shoddy state that's your problem but look seriously at what we have here and base your expectation on that.

I'm not going to judge the final product on a version of the sim that does not represent the final product, because it's not the final product.

Because that makes no darn sense.

The sim is broken for me. I get a CTD about 1 min into every free flight I load.

Same for me. I've run out of things to try and do to troubleshoot. It either CTDs or simply freezes and I have to End-Task it.

Oddly enough if I just move around in free-cam mode it keeps on running. I can't fly any of the aircraft for more than a few more minutes before a freeze, either manual flight or on autopilot.

Unlike you I don't believe there's a different version of the core sim and I believe that disclaimer is basically meaningless. We'll see in a few weeks I guess.

Honestly wish they did. We are turning in circles. Take what we get, enjoy what we get. And remember it‘s an alpha for telemetry purposes. Nothing more. Happy what I get and see - if only from performance perspective

If there's core sim features missing, than yes it's a different version.

I dunno. My TrackIR worked out of the box. Just ran the TrackIR app before starting the sim.

I checked my MSFS settings there was a way to tweak tobii to get what I want. In 2024 I can see tobii as along device but when I press settings to tweak curves sim crashes 😞

It'll be the same core with extra stuff plugged in.
