Jorg cancelling an event due to 2024 still needing a lot of work (his words)

Any game would be in crunch mode this close to release

Jorg’s comments that the code was close to a frozen state

Huh? So there's a ton of work to do but at the same time the code is almost frozen?

the build date of the alpha being two weeks ago

It has been explained to you about a thousand times that the build date does not tell the full story. We already have plenty evidence from the GPE that the Alpha build does not have the same level of stability, functionality or assets.

AND four years of experience seeing how releases go with this team.

Their releases have actually improved over those four years. Did you get any hotfixes for SU15? Why isn't the forum on fire over AAU3? Hmmm...

It is very apparent that Asobo is far more confident about 2024 since they opted not to have an extensive and broad alpha like last time.

  • It must be so frustrating for the devs / Jorg to drop in on threads like this, having explicitly and repeatedly told us it’s an alpha for telemetry sourcing, to say on the intro page for the download

  • Sounds like you missed out on a fortune making money for the most popular sim ever made.     Questionable business decision.

  • With all due respect,   If the mentality of some strong voices in avsim had their views we would all still be on a broken P3d platform. It really does seem to be the place for the metaphor

And it would be a mistake for it to be released on November 19. That is my view.

Do you have a disadvantage if they release on Nov 19? You sound as if the release of that software is threatening you.

The point of alpha testing is to receive feedback. This is my feedback. I don't have to be on the Alpha testing team to provide feedback based on what I see others doing.

It would be a huge mistake to release this software in under 1 month. It is not even close to ready.

No successful software is released 1 month after this sort of alpha testing.

It's the same way it was done before!

The solution is very very simple if you are worried the product won't ready for release than don't purchase it on launch day.

Actually you only have a suspicion it won't be ready for launch. You don't work for MS/Asobo so you really have no idea what stage the product is currently in!

If you fly default aircraft

Some of the default aircraft are high quality. That isn't a good measure.

It is really funny to watch people freak out over a game. Just look at the OPs post. Then the response. Easy to see who is overreacting and who is just sharing their opinion. Really guys? 🤪

Isn't it lovely to see how that specific user has been ignoring that fact because it doesn't support their false narrative? 😂

Someone mentioned the build date, and they picked that ball and ran with it as if their life depended on it, despite the fact that any number of *days* "leading software projects" would make anyone aware that the build date of a feature-stripped alpha does not in any shape or form indicate the moment in which it was forked from the main branch.

OK, there hasn't been anything but rehashing of the same "Tastes great!  Less filling!!" back and forth of the same restated opinions for pages and pages now.

In five weeks we'll know.  Until then, it's time to move along.
