FSReborn Phenom300 project

Featured Replies

Hello mate,

I was just wondering if there is an update on your Phenom300 project.

Given the fairly bad to horrible reviews of the Sim Federation effort, I would imagine that your project would be a day one buy for followers of this aircraft.

I would also think that there are many of us who follow you are wondering the same thing so any further information would be really appreciated.

Thanks in eager anticipation

1 x 1tb SSD 3 x 240BG SSD and 4 x 2TB HDD

OS Win 10 Pro 64bit. Simulators ... FS2004/P3Dv4.5/Xplane.DCS/Aeroflyfs2...MSFS to come for sure.

Yesterday on the FSReborn Discord channel Raul said that the Phenom 300E continues in Alpha and when the status changes he would announce it on Discord.

They probably holding out for FS2024 just like every other developer not had to the chance to release their new products for MSFS2024.

All my current products (Sting S4, FSR500 and upcoming TL3000) will work in backwards compatibility mode inside 2024 initially, then all of these will be converted to MSFS 2024 free of charge, the first will be TL3000 because I am adding the floater version and is better to add it under MSFS 2024 given the new physics.

Then I will release Phenom 300E for MSFS 2024, followed by converting S4 and FSR500 after.

Now Raul is saying the Phenom 300E will be 2024 only.  Now that he has seen the 2024 SDK, he said that making a product for both platforms is just impossible.

Seems reasonable

I don’t think there will be many people left on 2024, it certainly doesn’t seem like what MS is intending for them.

Not understood this, you mean in 2020?

Hey guys,

This, to me, is good news and bad. It is, however the statement "that making a product for both platforms is just impossible" which is alarming.

IF, that is the case, I am wondering just how many 2020 aircraft are going to be compatible, and how many of these products will be updated to 2024 at no cost at best, or a small fee for the update.

I am guessing that the major 2020 releases will be upgraded and it will be the "little Guys" who will have a problem. My contention with that is that it is the "little guys" who need our support more than ever.

I understand that Raul will release a very good product but I am somewhat baffled by the fact that if it is that close to release, it must have been based on 2020. The economics of releasing for both is a matter for Raul (and all other developers) and I do not believe any of them deserve any criticism for making their decisions regardless of how good or bad that decision is for us.  There is absolutely no point in making a loss on any product (freeware excepted and acknowledged that the standards are not the same)

As disappointed as I am with this decision, I am happy to wait for 2024 just to get a new aircraft that FSReborn has put together. His standards are brilliant.

Regards

Tony

I'm not surprised, the 2020 SDK is what everyone had to use until now.   MSFS2024 is de facto just a big pay service update to 2020.  I don't think he'll have to re-invent the wheel on the Phenom or any other plane.   Some of the new firefighting stuff may take a little effort to learn but are there Phenom water-bombers...heh.

I'm not worried. 2024 users will expect 2024 features from new planes. If you're happy with the 2020 ones you have now, most will probably work the same in 2024 but will not have any of the new features 2024 enables.

It's likely that making a plane for 2024 breaks some stuff if it's used in 2020 and especially for small devs, making both would be overly burdensome so they choose one.

Still in the works. They are also making a Chipmunk which seems like an odd choice.
