msfs2024 on low end computer.

His specs were:

CPU: AMD Ryzen R5 2600

GPU: Asus Nvidia Dual 1070 8Gb V-ram

16Gb DDR4 2400Mhz ram

Internet Bandwidth 100Mbs.

He got about 26 to 27 fps over Toyko down low at 1000 feet.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I think he said his frame rate was down to 21 at one stage, and it was pretty smooth at that rate too. Reminds me  of FSX which could be pretty smooth at low rates.

He was flying with a mouse and keyboard too which was pretty amazing.

Pretty impressive for this hardware. This bodes well for all the Xbox people as well, they should have a much better experience.

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

I'm not familiar with those AMD numbers but I'm wondering if my low end will work as well.

CPU: i7-10700 @2.90 GHz

GPU: Nvadia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti w/6 Gb ram

16 Gb memory

Internet Speed: 368.18 Mbs

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions I should need.

Your CPU is better than an AMD R5 2600, and your 1660Ti GPU is better than the 1070. So long as 6GB VRAM is enough for DX12 mode @ 1080p resolution in MSFS 2024, you should be OK. I am in a similar position, as I have an i5 7600k CPU and a 980Ti GPU (with 6GB VRAM).

4GB VRAM (for 1080P) is the minimum spec while 8GB (for 1440P) is the recommended spec.

Sorry, your 1660Ti GPU is slightly less powerful than the 1070. Nevertheless, your CPU is better, which will probably be a significant factor.

I know the minimum specs for MSFS 2024 are higher than the minimum specs for MSFS 2020, but at the end of the day, MSFS 2024 has to run on XBox S. And XBox S by today's standard, it at the lower end of the PC spectrum.

Now Windows is probably more bloated than the XBox operating system. And most people probably have a lot of bloatware and other unneeded services running on Windows when they receive their PC or laptop from the vendor.  But unless you have some extreme bloatware or services that are eating up much of the resources of Windows, my educated guess is, if your computer is comparable to an XBox S, it will probably be able to run MSFS 2024 at 1080p, at low settings, perhaps even medium settings.  This is just an educated guess, we'll see when MSFS 2024 is released.

In the video the OP posted, the author of that video had 16 GB of RAM. I would be interested to see how MSFS 2024 ran on 8 GB of RAM on a comparable computer to the author of the video, at low settings, with all non-critical programs and services shut down of course - assuming MSFS 2024 doesn't block you from running if it detects you have less than 16 GB of RAM.

So far MSFS 2024 Dev build has been good on performance at Ultra settings, better than MSFS 2020 but I’m testing mostly my own content not others.  I also tested on my lowest end PC (Intel 7900X with 3060Ti) and it performed well at High settings.  In both cases 4K resolution.

Nice visual improvements in the Cockpit fixing some of the reflection errors found in MSFS 2020.

Sadly weather depiction seems as bad as MSFS 2020, no improvement there but it’s not final build, just testing out my stuff.

Still testing out physics and ground friction … haven’t formulated an opinion yet.

Should have no problem running on XBOX provided you don’t load up too many add-ons.

I tested the alpha with my current MSFS hardware:

  •  i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz
  • 32 GM RAM
  • RTX 2070 Super with 8 GB @ 2560*1440
  • 1 GB SSD

Seetings were in the upper range, and though I did't measure the framerate and it probably was between 20-30 it was fluid and nicely playable.

Another low end YT video.

MS2024 requires: Ryzen 5 2600X and GTX 970 4GB Vram

His rig is: Ryzen 5 2600X and GTX 1070 8GB Vram

On ultra settings he was getting "sub 10 frames per second" at 17:35

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I didn't like the PFD refresh rate in the beginning, very slow. Rest looked fine to me.
