November 16, 20241 yr Ive just done my 12th flight in this bird in VR, it is incredible.....the sounds were great before the update but now they are even better....very very immersive in VR .... dont think ill be flying pmdg 737 again and thats fantastic but this is something els in my opinion.....I guess its the sounds what are pulling me in...just taxing is mega...absoulutley love it. Regards Paul EGCC 1. Tell me, is cockpit geometry ok in VR? I read somewhere it's not correct (even comparing to PMDG), but that was the pre-release version. 2. Is it possible to import SimBrief OFP (as in PMDG UFT/tablet) so I can perform all necessary briefings still beeing in VR? Cheers! Adrian
November 16, 20241 yr I agree . I have all 4 variants of the 737 from PMDG .If you are into B737 this IS the latest. I just had a very pleasant descend on Vatsim to EKCH as NSZ3615 with a little twist because of lots of traffic meaning new heading and STAR And a holding at ROSBI. I had the mysterie spikes in temps in CPU to 100c at PAM near EHAM and North before it settle at 55c around ROSBI again every 30 seconds or so The MAX did a great job including the holding. Cabin i have no interest in. Btw. The FMC did not let me do a landing dispatch. It kept showing me exceeding takeoff weight 85000 kilo. Takeoff was about 78000 kg. Will look at failure options later Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe

Find it weird but that is obviously me being used to PMDG or let alone the PMDG EFBs which I find more intuitive and especially helpful. Even though the iFly EFB is how the real thing looks and behaves. Simbrief import I still not figured out through the EFB (if this is possible at all?), just via FMC. Did a quick turn in v1 earlier today, left the EFB off… Simbrief is still only via FMC as far as know. I always start with the request there before using the EFB. Then its easy to upload from FMC data to EFB for Navigraph and other Michael Moe Michael Moe
November 16, 20241 yr Yes you can only import flight plan through fmc at the moment and regarding the geometry of the Flightdeck in VR too me it looks and feels just fine but I’m no real airline pilot Regards Paul EGCC

I find the current way cumbersome but manageable. Mark CYYZ

It just bothers me that I would have to spend $70 to get another 737 when I already own two from PMDG. I understand that the cabin is nice, but from owning the Fenix, I probably visit the cabin once on a flight if that much, so that isn't really worth $70. It's still basically a 737, in fact that is the way Boeing designed it, so pilots wouldn't need any additional training. I think I will pass on this one. The MAX compared to the NG is more slippery and feels much smoother on the controls. Because it feels more slippery, the behavior in the flare is a bit different. Not entirely, just a bit different. If ifly doesn’t model these “feeling” differences, then I don’t think it’s worth the price tag. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. Well the ifly certainly feels different from the PMDG 737, if that is what you want to know. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Manual input but its easy. There is a input from FMC option from takeoff performance which do give QNH , temps and winds Michael Moe Edited November 16, 20241 yr by Michael Moe Michael Moe

Regards Paul EGCC A neighbor of mine has thousands of hours as a FO in the 737, and he said that the PMDG sounds in the cockpit are pretty realistic. If that is so, did they manipulate the sounds in the iFly to make simmers happy, that want the cockpit sounds to be like they hear in the cabin, when they are a passenger? Just curious.

Hi Bob , i like both PMDG and this one and i can tell you that it doesnt sounds as a passenger. Michael Moe Michael Moe

November 16, 20241 yr For me Bob, pmdg aircraft and sounds are great, I'm a big pmdg fan.....now if they have manipulted the sounds then for me...that is fine because its so so immersive, i think you said in a earlier post that you will prob give this aircraft a miss...I know its more money yet again but you might just love it, you dont want to missing out on this fabulous aircraft. But you know we are all different and it might not just float your boat but it defo floats mine...even more than pmdg 777....and thats aircraft is bloody awesome! Regards Paul EGCC Regards Paul EGCC
