MSFS 2024 has been released!

Featured Replies

Can someone confirm that this sim contains new default airport layout with correct runway and taxiway match with new satellite imagery, as advertised? Are new photogrammetry and updated DEM really there?

I can subscribe to all of that, except the GPS screens are totally over exposed, way too bright. text is therefore hard to impossible to read. I expect we'll see an update from workingtitle very soon, or is there a way to adjust/reduce thei GPS brightness?

Everywhere? No way, i'm seeing streams and it looks gash in a lot of places, i watch a stream then fly that route in MSFS2020 and if there is an improvement its not 70 quids worth....yet. When it is the money is sat there.

There is more to life than flight simming

but nothing is more fun, always available when I want it and with no recurrent cost. 😄

I have lost all interest in MSFS2020.

exactly my thought. I'll rather fly with the MSFS2024 eagle, despite several teething problems, which I know they will solve sooner than later. they owe it to us and to their own self esteem.

Stuck on "Customize Identity" screen..............

This is as far as I've got after 18 hours trying to access the sim. Time to hit the sack and maybe try tomorrow.

May all your landings be safe ones!

I knew it wasn't going to go perfectly smoothly, and I knew the folks who expected the top-tier addon aircraft to "just work" at launch because Asobo said so were going to be disappointed... But I honestly would not have expected that Microsoft would screw up a software release this badly.

The thing I find most interesting is that, from everything I've read about 2024, the most positive thing anyone has said about it is basically "I made it work.". I've certainly not seen anyone fawning over how much improved X or Y is compared to 2020.

It'll get there, I'm sure.  But not this week.  Probably not next week either...

underestimating demand. Such a lame excuse.

I agree. I expected he would come up with something better than such over-used oldfashioned sales lingo.

Great-that should definitely be happening with greater use of your CPU via better multithreading.

nothing comes from nothing. applies to fps/smoothness just as well.

But just walking the airport with the grass and trees blowing in the wind this is already a significant step up from 2020 all around. In 4k ultra it's glorious.

you ain't seen nothing yet. all this in VR, another magnitude of order experience.

Still getting stuck at  the 97% this morning, for those that got it working, did the sim pause for ages at 97% as i'm giving it about 30 mins, and it's still the same. Or did it fly through it?

Indeed MSFS 2020 was on a 10 year cycle was it not? We are 4 years in, judging by people realising the obvious, that this is MSFS 2020 really, maybe they will quietly destroy MSFS 2020 to get people to shift over....

Yeah that's what I'm concerning now. Remember they had planned next sim and world update after new sim release, but with how many issues the dev should fix these days I'm afraid it will be long delayed, or maybe won't happen at all.
