November 25, 20241 yr I go back to the UserCfg.opt to see this: InstalledPackagesPath "C:\Users\jnava\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages" I don't have any more hair to pull out. I would really like to start getting keyboard settings and SPAD.neXt setup in MSFS2024 but I am starting to have doubts. John John P. November 25, 20241 yr Should I use the XBox app on my computer to uninstall or the normal Start > Settings > Apps and install from there? John John P. Navara PP ASEL-IA - 1975 Piper Arrow II Owner Complex, HP & Tailwheel endorsements https://twitch.tv/Sim_Dude
November 25, 20241 yr An easier way that I did. Go to the Community Folder and right click on it. Click Show more options. Click Send to and select Desktop. Drag or place your items there. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
November 25, 20241 yr Is there some over-ridding operational reason to not use the default location for the MSFS2024 Community folder, or is it just a personal preference issue? I have a single 4TB NVMe C drive, with the MSFS 2020 store version installed in the default location, and plan to eventually also install MSFS2024 in its default location. So I will have two sims on the C drive, each with its own Community folder, etc. Is having the two sims in the default locations on the same drive a bad idea for some reason? Thanks, Al Edited November 25, 20241 yr by ark
November 25, 20241 yr I moved my community folder last night with mixed results. Some stuff was working and some stuff was not. I tried to copy and paste stuff I had put in the old community folder to the new community folder and I would get an error message stating I was not allowed to that. Decided to go back to default community folder location and now FS2024 won't read the original default location despite triple checking everything. I will tinker with it more today but I may have to reinstall FS2024!

Now how can you get it to download often used airplanes, instead of streaming them? My Official folders are empty.. OK. So you just changed the path shown on the last line (mine is C) to another drive? Is that all there is to it? It's difficult for me to understand how that is possible so that everything works. If true, that seems like the easiest way to do it. I assume I would just create a new folder on another drive and change the bottom line to that folder?

I assume I would just create a new folder on another drive and change the bottom line to that folder? That is correct. When flightsim starts up, it reads that file and accepts that line as the location for the "Content". So, create a folder, give it a name... and in that folder, create a Community folder. In my case: InstalledPackagesPath "D:\MSFS2024 Content" Edited November 25, 20241 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

Not sure about the GUI.. but can you search for aircraft that you have put into the Community folder? Or does an airport show when you start a flight there? Bert

With all the issues I've been reading about wrt MSFS2024, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I finally put together a new computer about a month ago to replace my 10 year old machine, and decided to just go with one large NVMe drive to keep things simple.
